You don't even have to jail break it, join the development program ($99 per year) and you and 100 other people can use your app without Apple's intervention.
If it was the labels 'forcing' this price down Apple's throat, it seems awfully strange that Amazon and Zune are unaffected.
Because pulling your goods from one big shop because they won't let you have your way isn't a every effective threat if that big shop has no rivals selling your goods on your terms.
As long as I still have alternatives, I could care less about the people duped into paying the Apple tax.
So that'll be that brand hatred thing you're going on about then.
And that is probably how they got those statistics, by only counting the Windows form factor netbooks, discounting the ones with different specs that only come with Linux.
Try reading that thing at the top of the page or the article it links too. This time is the headline that's misleading, the summary is not to bad, probably due to the fact that its basically one big quote from TFA.
Yeah, I know, I must be new around here, which is starting to become my signature.
The Globe and Mail printed 'some analyst says this...' it does not even name the analyst, and the other links just say 'The Globe and Mail printed that some analyst said...' So we've got some anonymous analyst postulating a bidding war and a bunch of links all referencing the original report of what the analyst said. Excuse me if I do not consider this to add up to 'I don't think the payouts nor the amounts are in doubt'
You'd better hand in your literacy and written comprehension cards. All those links amount to are a bunch of self referential cross links eventually leading to the original 'Analyst makes up a bidding war and picks a winning figure from his ass' article.
The 2:1 (US), 4:1 (EU) and 9:1 (JPN) Blue to Red sales ratio's are far more likely to have pushed Warners in Blues direction.
It quite simple MS and Toshiba write big cheques to the HD-DVD association. The HD-DVD association writes big cheques to Paramount / Dreamworks. No money has gone directly between MS and Paramount / Dreamworks therefore Amir Majidimehr is telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, it's just not the whole story.
.....Sure, but it will also replace an even MORE SERIOUS AMOUNT OF COIN that the pharmacos currently make selling treatments to victims. What is better for a pharmaco...
There are lots of factors that have a bearing on the answer to that question, ones of the top of my head are... 1. Profit on treatment * no of HIV+ people that can afford it compared to profit on vaccine * members of the world population that can afford it. 2. Time until patent on current treatment runs out. 3. Chances of a rival without a current treatment developing a different Vaccine.
Now I'm not saying that Pharmaco's would not take a treatment over a cure if there was more money in it, they would, but its not a clear cut strategy as you would think.
It seems that not every one is like you. In every market that the PS3 is available, Blu-Ray discs are out selling HD-DVD.
When the PS3 hits Europe next month, HD-DVD will be all but finished as an alternative format.
There has been speculation that his Big 4 contract forbids this. If this is the case he needs to come clean on that stipulation.
Assuming that the contract does not have one of those, "You can not reveal the terms of the contract' terms.
Given the way the RIAA work, do you honestly think it does not have one ?
They say: "the most gracious has betaken a son!" Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it in the skies are about to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, that they attributed a son to the Most Gracious, for it is not consonant with the majesty of the Most Gracious that he should beget a son. (The Qur'an, 5:88-92).
I think you just proven the parents point, the person the quote is quoting quite clearly believes that the Christians are claiming that Jesus is the son of Allah, and as far as I remember the Christians generally claim that Jesus is the son of there own god. That shows clearly that the quoted person believes that the Christian god and his own are the same.

It probably went something like this...
"If anyone finds up what we're up to they'll have us by the balls!!!!"
That would convince me.
Of the top of my head, one....
#pragma omp for schedule(static)
while on OSX that'll use pthreads, and I believe on Linux too, on Windows it'll depend on the compiler used.

There, fixed that for you. God forbid that that an Apple story on Slashdot might have an accurate title or summary these days.
Yeah, I know, I must be new around here.

Yes. It already happening with the HPV vaccine.

Apparently that industry is not fond of HD, as it puts the cost of make up up to much...
I like that the only evidence that Gates did not say the 640k thing is Bill Gate's denying it.
To quote Mandy Rice-Davies, "Well, he would, wouldn't he?"
Perhaps you missed the IPOD'S RUNNING LINUX bit, which is what 0.000,000,1% of the MP3 player market...
there isn't profit to be had by attacking an OS with less than 5% marketshare.
Yet there are already more viruses for iPod's running Linux. How does that fit in your market share world view?

Of course this time it really could be the blue screen of DEATH...
Can't give you exact figures, but the 360 does 250k per month at the moment, marginally behind the PS2.
Then theres the little problem that none of those are legitimate patents
Ask RIM how much difference that makes.
Sarcasm or not, you should question everything you read, no matter how trusted the source.
I think you need to read that again...
"The PS2 and PSP games can be purchased ***used*** without..."
Buy them Second Hand. Sony does not make a penny that way.
