Isn't this sort of what the article about captchas a few days back was?
Most AI today is extremely specialized. It's not hard to design something that appears to think, if it only has to check for 3 cases.
The problem with speech is that assumming all humans use perfect rules, which they don't, and assuming all computers know the perfect rules, which they don't as well, creates a logistical nightmare. Computers work well with numbers.
Did he say hi? Yes he did, so let's say hi back.
It is really hard to design a bot that would actually analyze what they are saying.
Did he say hi? Yes, he greeted me with a "hello" "Hello to you too."
If I had mod points, I'd mod that up.
There really has been a shortage of good storyline-based games. I honestly don't remember the last game I played based that had a true storyline, from start to finish.
"NoJ Executives: Hey, those people are clamoring for other zelda games."
"NoJ #2: But we can't go back on our words!"
"Coming Soon: The Legend of Melda, Starring Bink!"
Actually, looking through the errors, I saw that most of them were caused by the error parser, not the actual site.
They had a url that had a "&" character inside quotes. That error caused the parser to assume that there was a variable undefined in the website, and caused about 5 other errors.
Why would it do such a stupid thing? Does Windows not display video if you aren't using a MS video card? Then why would it shut it down if you aren't using MS drivers?
"Surprisingly, Windows Vista Beta 1 is a speedy performer. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see statistics showing that it's already faster than XP on the same hardware. This is somewhat confusing to me, since early betas are generally not tuned for performance. Plus, Vista has an incredibly dense UI compared to XP. I'll be interested to see whether this changes over time."
Most people that have actually put forth intelligent arguments are/not/ arguing about the results. They are arguing about the validity of the data.
Whether IQ is a "good" factor in measuring intelligence has a definite impact in whether intelligence is right.
If you can't measure something, then the study can't be done correctly, can it?
And the sky is NOT blue. It happens to be pitch black right now!

That's assuming the person designing the flash has no idea what he's doing.
Basically, layer the captchas. Have a random encrypted image being sent along with the flash.
For gAIM, I found these steps worked:
Screen name: Your account name, withoug the gmail.
Server (The first one): is JUST 'gmail.com'
Resource is whatever, I'm using 'talk'
Connect Server: is 'talk.google.com'
That should do it. And DONT click register. Just click save and log in.
I would think that actually getting a two-headed hard drive would be possible, but coordinating the different heads would require two controllers anyway.
I assume a platter is cheaper than a controller, so that's why this hasnt been done.

I'm almost positive they don't charge anything for the actual deposit to the bank account.

The grandparent just shows that even if RIAA/others face a loss at all the lawsuits, they are succeeding at some things - intimidation, perhaps?
Zelda Kart actually sounds pretty fun. Horceracing game, anyone? And of course, you can fight others in a huge horse-battle. Does that sound familiar?

Rather than just making a crap spinoff of such a great series, they should retire it with dignity.
The main problem with what FD did, AFAIK, was the fact that they linked to the flash directly, not to the website containing the flash.

Can't you, you know, make a folder?

Woot, 1/0!

How is a sidebar with links taking shape as a browser? AFAIK, you still need to have IE or Firefox installed to see the links.
Don't worry - people are nice these days, they can forgive an honest mistake!
