    Just what we need in Melbourne - an IBM "Research" lab. Because we don't have anything like it. Except for maybe the CSIRO, who, IMO are more worthy than IBM for getting tax payer funded hand outs. Or RMIT, or Monash, Melbourne University... I'm betting this will be another flash in the pan development like the IBM centre at UoB which is essentially just IBM getting IT students to work for peanuts on their help desk.

    And how would they pay for it? More income tax? More VAT/GST etc.? So then people can't afford the house that the power is supplied to.

    Of course people would starve to death without food.

    Roads/Schools/Libraries (WTF?) are not free in any country. Sure, you may not walk up and pay on the day, but you pay for it through a multitude of taxes. Where do you think the goverment gets the money from to be able to provide these facilities? Oh I know, they print it... Right?

    As has been pointed out already, this is just an example of someone hacking a device to improve it. Whether or not it's flakey doesn't really matter because he's showing that a tiny device can be improved - meaning that if you do get it right then you may be able to keep using the device, rather than it just sitting on a shelf gathering dust. Some people call this kind of activity a "Hobby". Go look it up. I'm sure you could find one that interests you.

    Of course I did so while thinking to myself that Buddhists probably don't spend a great deal of time on the Internet (referring to buddhist Monks rather than your average run-of-the-mill buddhist). But even so you'd think that someone would have documented the mathematical knowledge of Buddhist math geniuses...

    Perhaps, oh genius, you'd like to tell us who the crook is? What? You don't know? It takes years - and generally a slip up, to identify just one SPAM king. And when they arrest them, 10 more step up to the plate. No doubt there are plenty of ppl investigating these crimes to try and arrest someone - hopefully they are smarter than you.

    I'm betting your the kind of person that watches a "most wanted" show and says "why didn't they just arrest them when they took their mugshot photo"?

    You forgot to say "Get off my lawn".

    Windoze 7 is, by far, the best version of Windoze ever produced. Sure it's different to XP - but that's just a matter of taking the time to learn it and accepting that with improvements, some things will change. It's faster than XP, as robust as XP and it has some great useability features that make XP look like the dated PoC that it actually is. But you don't appear to want to "change" so there's no real point in explaining it to you. We in the industry call you a "User". Users can't be bothered learning and are resistant to change, even if there are multiple benefits to that change.

    Yeah - you should probably RTFA - that quote was from a caption of a picture showing the scientists wearing normal clothes, masks, goggles and gloves. None of which would do anything against radioactivity.

    Hmm yeah - that was my thought too. The NBN promises speeds of 100Mbps, so presumably the one person on the NBN is also an Optus customer and they've blown their quota. Not sure why you'd complain if you were shaped when you went over your quota though. That's the purpose of quota's...

    A nice thought but he was taking the Shuriken out of Japan. And they're probably an allowed import to the US (Speculation there). Whether or not you can take something into a country is the responsibility of Customs at the destination, not the origin.

    The Cri-Cri has been around since it's maiden flight in 1973. To date there have been Internal Combustion and Jet (Google cricri jet) versions created. This is just the next step in the Cri-Cri's evolution.

    As has been pointed out by others, most small aircraft (especially the aluminium ones) are just the pilot wrapped in tin foil. They are ALL designed to be light - not crashable.

    So you're saying that WWII veteran's only have birthdays on November 11? Do you only honour your mother on Mothers day? Your Father on Fathers day? Your kids (if you have any) on International Childrens day? If your house burnt down and your family was saved by a firefighter that ran into the flames, risking his (or her) life, would you only thank him on May 4th - International Firefighters Day.

    Perhaps you're annoyed because there isn't an officially recognised "International Douchebag Day". (when is your birthday?)
