Really? How does the PS2 go with HD/3D rendering? They're the most basic of functions offered by PC's (for 10+ years now - I had 3D and HD on my geforce256). So surely the PS2 could do that?

Sure, those things aren't "innovative", but you've claimed that Crysis 2 could run on a PS2 and I think the subject of your post is a description of what you have written.

Besides "Mr. Crytek" isn't talking about Innovation - he's talking about creative expression. The ability to have "more" in a game (better graphics, bigger worlds, more detail).

Then perhaps they'd understand why it's such a stupid fkn question.

Aside from within Zombies the game does not have Nazi's in it (it's based around the Bay of pigs/Viet nam). The symbol is not on the players, it's something they can include in their Tags (Though you might be able to etch it on your weapons - haven't tried). The symbol has no context with respect to this game beyond some people thinking that Nazi symbolism is "cool".

If there's nobody to breathe a pollutant before it degrades

Polution is not just about "what you breathe". It's also about greenhouse gases and the effect on the ozone layer.

In terms of fuel consumed and CO2 released, ship pollution from transporting a car (and all of its component parts) is a small fraction of the fuel consumed and CO2 released in the vehicle's lifespan

Interesting theory - but the ship probably has a longer lifespan than all the cars it carries. You seem to think that because the ship uses so little fuel to move a single car, it's not worth making it more efficient and therefore less damaging to the environment.

The "last leg" of travel causes the vast majority of their health consequences

Again, polution is not just about "Health" (Consider "Health of the planet" given you seem so stuck on the Health idea)

and there's a lot of work underway to clean it up

The fact that there isn't is the whole point of the /. post.

A similar discussion is currently before the courts (or will be soon) in Australia where by a "class action" (populist term, not sure if that's an applicable term for Oz law) has been taken against our banks for imposing "penalty fees" for a wide range of reasons (like overdrawing your account - which the bank could just stop you from doing, but instead they make you pay a penalty "fee"). IIRC the argument is that these amount to "Fines" which the banks have no right to impose as they aren't allowed to "fine" anyone.

I'm fairly sure that you also entirely missed the point of the blog. Chris is making the point that the DRM on the Kindle prevents the ability to sell an ebook that you no longer want or need. The blog then goes on to say that while Amazon allows the sale of used books (and video games), it doesn't allow the sale of the Kindles e-books, yet it presumably has the mechanism to do so. Chris is NOT saying that the DRM needs to be removed - just that if Amazon can allow the sale of used items, why not allow the sale of Kindles DRM protected books via the Amazon web site?
