Stern stated for the record that if the satellite option didn't exist, he would have retired rather than stay on the radio. Both sides can claim "victory"... but it's the fans who get punished.
If you've seen it already (and it causes you grief) then just skip along to the next story... or read the discussion to see if any new points were made since the last time it was posted.
Most of us don't read every single story posted on Slashdot... and I'm sure that it doesn't hurt anything to revisit a story.
RIAA plans to sue the several hundred people who were lucky enough to find an X-Box 360 to purchase.
A spokesman for the organization stated that the reason for the suit was that "the money spent on the X-Box could have gone towards the purchase of 20 to 25 CD."
I love the "Apple does it" "Sony does it", etc. comments. The "everyone else does it so I'll do it too" excuse doesn't justify this kind of behavior from any company. It's shitty and annoying.
A man wakes up on an island with total amnesia, but with an encyclopedic knowledge of everything else. He uses his abilities to solve crimes... while he tries to discover who he is.
It was on FOX at the same as Firefly.... ran one season... and was cancelled AFTER a really intriguing 1st season cliffhanger. It was a real shame as it was a great show. It would have been nice to have some sort of closure...
I've had 100s of real living friends / co-workers / casual acquaintances over the years. If they like Windows, they've kept it a secret.:)
Equal time... the Mac people that I've known LOVE their Macs. I've known some happy Linux people as well.
I don't think that Windows Fanboys exist. Everyone I've ever known that uses Windows seemed to barely tolerate it because THEY HAVE NO CHOICE in the matter. They either have to use it because that's what's available at work... can't justify spending money on a Mac right now (even a Mini)... or don't know about / or REFUSE to use Linux.
I think these pro-Windows comments are written by MS employees.
Seriously. Isn't it possible that MS might be encouraging its worker-bees to spend some of that hour or two that's lost to websurfing... to post pro-windows comments in prominent forums on the web?
It's free advertising AND it pisses off the Linux zealots.
And just to stay on-topic... 7 version of Vista? What are they smoking? When you provide someone with that many versions, they're always going to think that they got the "wrong" one and resent you.
