Is that some kind of attempt at ridiculing me? If so, I guess we could count the spelling errors you make when you write something in my native language.
Hello, I'm from the future. Turns out everybody will need at least 500 times more space than the space to hold all the world's video to actually watch a video.
There are a lot of software which Mac is famous for running very smoothly, for example a lot of audio and graphics software. Most of these programs are only available for MacOS and Windows.
(Although since I have very little experience of Mac, I don't really know whether running X11 instead of Aqua would break functionality of these programs, so maybe they wouldn't even run satisfactory on X11.)
I think you make a very good point in your post, so I'll just correct a little error. The 480p resolution is 852*480, not 640*480. There will of course still be a huge difference in needed GPU power.
Man, you're cool. You don't like mainstream crap games with graphics, music and stuff like that. You like hardcore games with no graphics, best played on wooden VIC20's powered by windmills.
And being "more fun" is a universal property that is not at all a personal experience.
I feel sorry for you for asking this question, I really do.
Everyone is so damn helpful to your problem, except for the fact that every nerd will want to give you advice for MacOS, Linux, RAID configurations, backup computers with cron-scripts, and every other thing you didn't ask about. Never mind the fact that you don't own the equipment and software they namedrop, and that what you ask should be really easy to do somehow. It's still lame old Windows with just a DVD-writer, that's not hightech enough and so it's not a valid question on Slashdot.
At least make the posters here happy now that they can drop what awesome hardware they own and what much cooler OS'es they run than you and the average computer using sucker out there (which includes me.)
Actually, I think it's very boring to talk about terrorism, sorry to bring it up.
The point was that the military is needed to uphold peace. Without it, people who don't care for it have the possibility to walk effortlessly over anyone and anything.
Pacifism just isn't the road to a peaceful society, because it requires that all people are pacifists. And I'm not one, so there!
What about terrorism? (Which is a popular subject these days.) Does anyone seriously think terrorists will respect the GPL? The only forces who are weakened by this addition to the GPL are those who respect the laws where GPL is valid. So, if terrorists finds a use for the software, they'll probably end up using it, but those who are supposed to defend you from terrorist will not be allowed to use it because their hands are tied to their backs by the GPL.
This whole thing is stupid. It's not pacifism that upholds peace, the military (of sane countries) does.
Yeah, smart job on posting thumbnail-sized pictures. How are you supposed to get anything from those pictures when you can't even see the buttons because there aren't such a thing as 1/10th of a pixel?
Lyrics are just a way for musicians to impress people by sounding smart anyway. If they really had anything important to say they would write a book.
Seriously, when is the music industry finally going to realize that no one in the entire world, ever, will refrain from buying a CD because they have already read the lyrics for free on the web?
IE7 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay closer to Firefox and Opera than IE6. And because they have a new product, they're going to work harder on CSS2.1 for the next year while they claw their way back into their 90+% market share.
I could honestly care less about ACID2 compliance, and the people who do are impractical pedants. ESPECIALLY when IE6 fails so many more basic standards tests than ACID2, all of which IE7 is fixing.
So basically, what you're saying is it's ridiculous to complain about Microsoft's inability to make a decent browser despite them being a corporation of hundreds of times the size and financial means of Opera Software or Mozilla, just because they fixed bugs that they probably should have fixed a long time ago already.
The point isn't that it fails the Acid2 test (that I have never heard of until today), but that it fails to follow the standards which the Acid2 test apparantly was deviced to test.
If you're the web developer then isn't it your job to make sure that the site works well in Explorer and Firefox and Opera?
You're the expert; why wait for a client to tell you they need their stuff to work on Opera? They might not even know Opera or Firefox exists. If I hired someone I would assume they'd make it compatible with all the major browsers without me having to explicitly say so. Besides, Opera seems to render contents very true to HTML/CSS standards (more than Firefox and Explorer, in my experience) and that alone seems to me to be a good reason to make sure it's compatible.
"Only Chuck Norris can divide by zero."
He wouldn't have to, because no calculation would ever dare to be difficult in front of Chuch Norris.

Yahoo and Internet Explorer 7 vs Google and Firefox 2...
What to chose? Hmmm... What to chose?

Another way to create true black metal is to play music really fast onto a noisy old tape recorder.
It sure wouldn't hurt if you told us the quote too, while you're at it.
