How much money did EA make on you putting in a cheat code before the 360? None. How much do they make now? Some. They are just trying to make a buck everywhere they can and personally I think it's crap. Same with their ads in games. Not only are the games not any cheaper with this new "business model" but they are still released unfinished and take way to long to patch. It would be one thing if these micro payments and adds made the game cheaper or free but they don't.
Hell, why give us even 10MB w/o paying out the arse for it when you have people paying $40/month just for 3MB/512K?
If anything like this ever came out it would probably be shared (obviously) and beyond the standard monthly fee there would be a per MB charge as well.

Good God, I'm glad I don't live in whatever town you are talking about. We have calls for noise disturbance, domestic abuse, and the occasional DUI but that's it. Some of the other items you listed have happened but they are not a daily or hourly occurrence. For the most part they are pulling people over for going 32 in a 30 or hanging out at the BP....
Actually they got me for PI, which I had to plead guilty to to get the diversion. So a criminal complaining about a cop? Riiight.... that will go far. Guess if I was made of money I could sue the state and try to get... something from it. Unfortunately I don't make enough money to afford my rights.
My setup was the same until I recently added the last 15 seconds or so of the BSG theme song as the startup sound at work. Now whenever I log in it's like I'm getting ready to do battle with sexy Cylons instead of... posting on/. all day.
Far as I can tell Sony isn't planning on joining in the next console wars anyway. They are saying this console should last 10 years, so while they may release some new "streamlined" or big add-on around the 5 year mark, they are planning for the PS4 to come out around 2017.
I was walking home from my sister's apartment and a cop stopped me. FREEZE, hands on the gun, whole deal. I was handcuffed, pockets emptied, and sat on the curb. I was then told they were looking for people that were breaking into cars. Since I had two cell phones (one for work and one for personal use) they were pretty convinced I was one of them, even though I listed off the names in the address book but couldn't tell them the number for my work phone (hell I never call it).
Point is just because you have a copy of the anarchists cookbook and are suspected as a terrorist does not mean you are one. Same as having two cell phones and being suspected as a thief. It's a dangerous mindset to let cops enter into, especially when they usually just want to get this case wrapped up and go back to whatever the hell they were doing before.
As someone who never played the game (my parents would only get me mario titles for my snes) would it be worth busting out the still working SNES and finding a copy of it or grabbing the ROM?
Basically, would a 23 year old who loves RPGs love this game today?
If you don't understand the internet legend portion of this story doing some searching on wikipedia for ikissyou. Also remember the whole "Better to be thought an idiot then open your mouth and remove all doubt" saying.
Problem with that is you miss out on a lot of quality new music. Have you ever listened to an entire Pink Floyd, Metallica, Disturbed, album? There is a heck of a lot of good music there and it is a shame that a lot of it didn't get any radio play.
Now have you listened to an entire Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Fergie, album? If they even have a good single on the radio likely the rest of the album is complete shit. I realized this in my teens because back in my day we had to buy the whole tape (or CD if you really wanted to splurge) and you soon realized how much most bands suck that are on the radio.
I also discovered a lot of bands I would never have known about without the internet: Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Lords of Acid, Crystal Method, Thousand Foot Krutch, and the list goes on. Besides the occasional movie or "techno hour" these songs don't get played over here in the US, especially in Indiana.
My point is expose your children to more then just what is on the radio. I turned my sister away from boy bands to rock bands doing this and I'm sure you are getting tired of that played out spears or backdoor boys song;)

Wouldn't have remembered what happened? Heck yes we would have. At least new yorkers anyway. I want to know what the heck you do for a living that two planes crashing and leveling buildings in major cities due to lightning hits is considered mundane and unremarkable.
Actually it's not their PCs that I think are lousy. It's their technical support. I work at the helpdesk of an appliance store and all of our registers are either dell or HP PC running windows xp. I had two hardrives that went bad that I needed to call in and RMA. One was from Dell and one was from HP. Keep in mind wewe bought the highest level of support from both HP and Dell.

Phone call took 5 minutes. I told the guy the error code on the test that I ran on the hard drive using their diagnostics disk, he got my address and contact information and then the call was done. The part was shipped to me the next day. Guy I spoke to was from Georgia and although he had an accent neither of us had problems understanding each other
HP-
Three... god... damn... hours on the phone with these people. There systems are slow as shit, I can't understand what they are asking me to do, they can't understand me. Ask to get transferred? You either end up in the wrong department or disconnected. EVERY TIME! I called in 5 times just asking to speak to a manager and everytime they either hung up on me or transferred me to their television department. Finally I was able to bully one of the techs into just sending me a hard drive.
Guess which PC company we are going with for our next set of stores?

Is it still DRM if anyone can copy it by putting it into their dvd drive and running it on a recent version of Nero?
If the DRM no longer does it's job and even non-techies can get around it I don't think it's really DRM anymore. I think it's just obsolete software.
