I block ads in browsers. I'm just saying it's Google's service, it's their rules. Same as Apple do what they want in their walled garden.

I've no idea who Desctructoid even are, so I think it's a bit weird to try and make me out to be a hypocrite with that.

I think a lot of myself in some respects, less in others. Again I'm not even sure what in my post would lead you to say that.

Android is completely open. The Google Play Store is not, and therefore Google can do what they like with it. Developers release free versions of some apps on the premise that they will earn money through ads instead. So really they are protecting the developers from abuse here.

Think a little more before trying to be a smartass.

Try Windows 8. I dare you..

Yes, any of these system can be "gotten used to", but that doesn't mean that one can't be better than another. You even have a preference yourself (and apparently your preferences haven't changed for a long time judging by your username).

I actually think I like Windows 7 better than any of the other desktop interfaces around these days. The task bar and search features work well and don't get in the way like in some other OSes (ie Windows 8..). After that I prefer MATE, then OSX, then XP. Unity is getting slightly better, but still isn't configurable enough to be useful to me.

It's not crazy to express a dislike for some of the moronic ideas that get forced on users from time to time. If nobody complains, things will just get worse over time.

You're assigning way too much intelligence to evolutionary processes. Evolution is more of a by-product than a directed process in the way that you are thinking.

Any one mosquito may have had a random mutation that makes them more or less tolerant of DEET. The mosquitoes the ones who are more repelled by DEET are more likely to die from lack of food, so each generation the mosquitos who are most tolerant - through whatever means - are the ones that reproduce. The cycle repeats for their kids. Overall the trend will be towards greater resistance.

In their video, you also see them drawing 2D objects on a paper stencil on a flat surface (to assemble into a 3D object later). You'd have to basically be incapable of feeding yourself before you're at the level where you're unable to do that.

Drawing in 3D would require more practice of course, but what they are saying is not "totally bogus"...

The best approach is for you to check the domain on the link (usually hovering over the link works fine for this), rather than expecting no links.. if you know enough to know that you don't want to use links from phishing mails, you should also be able to know how to check that the domain is correct.

Transfats do exist in nature, but we mostly get them from processed foods. From the wikipedia article: "They can only be made by cooking with a very high heat, at temperatures impossible in a household kitchen." So frying isn't bad for you either.
