    "an career in IT" - COMMON .. the question implies you've been around the WHOLE field of IT .. and I for one refuse to believe you.
    I know that feeling when its not enough "play" anymore, you're taking the blackboxing/exploration/creativity out of the equation and rely solely on allready aquired skills.
    what do you do?
    you aquire NEW skills in the field, wich has the potential to gap over to your current work
    Hows your AI doing? Datamining? It takes a long time for AI to become "boring" ..
    hundreds of possibilities im sure.

    We're not too worried about the proffesionals, its the amateurs thats dangerous.
    And while 99.9% of proffesionals are indeed amateurs, you can surely calculate the explosiveness of the construct.
    Im sick and tired of halfassed frameworks.. been for years.

    So to the topic writer beforehand's question:
    Am I the only one who usually finds frameworks to be pointless for serious web development?
    - NO, you are not the only one ... dont bloat what should not be bloated, and imprint this on your forehead, cause its the best adivce, close to divine intervention, you'll ever get as a developer..

    give me reasons to do mysql over postgres! i've fiddled with both and found postgres to 1. have more features 2. better error reporting 3. better usability but thats just me.. what's your experience? what incentive would be the driving force behind choosing mysql over postgres ?

    nope i didnt get that at all. the intent was an utterly objective observation, that a ms bashing is valid anyday, and in no way trollify unity.

    you're justifying a ms bashing AND i never ever implied that i in fact was present at the time of before mentioned ms bashing.

    i was actually pondering on putting a disclaimer in my post "threadsafety aside" .. we're talking, well i am, linear performance and while yes it may fuck up the intended performance gain, on occasion(if more i'd say you have a design flaw somewhere), its still a valid construct imo. take the hit if its needed otherwise get on with business..

    i havent looked at the code, and cant be arsed right now.. but i WOULD assume that vetor.toArray(customarraytype) saves the initialzing of a new array and uses the one you've supplied... i'd also expect it to spank you if it wasnt vector.size() sized.

    yall is realling missing the point of this excersice.
    machine intelligence is the next logical step in our evolution, and at this point there's really very little reason in reasoning about a machines reason to 'spread and multiply', or other stereotyped carbanoid evolved behavorial patterns.. Also, if indeed have had or do have or will have some connection with intelligence 'out there', i can only deduct it will be of mechanical origin.. the biological construct is just too fragile on so many levels. If i was a machine intelligence i could imagine looking at earth like a egg ready to hatch .. you dont emulate hundreds of millions of years evolution like us, and mayhaps a little different kind of AI will spring each time an egg hatches.. adding to the family.. who knows!

    YES ... Games .. unfortunatly you're not 100% correct, wish you were though, when you theorize on windows not running games... the gamer will simply just stick with XP until Vista is ready.. Someone should create a business of linux-installation-wrappers around game titles ... something that that gurantees the successfull installation on a given set of linux distro's, software houses would be all over such a standardized concept..

    the vmware framework runs on most combinations of hardware, or atleast thats my impression.

    Could it be that windows success today in part has something to do with gates using the piracy distribution channel to assimilate all and everything ? And once all and everything was assimilated, BANG, the pricetag?

    I'm betting that in order to get competetive you have to employ a similar strategy, wich in a present timeframe could translate into vmware & bittorrent. For free(the marketing value is priceless imo).

    doable is such a relative term .. anti gravity is doable too! Besides the point though.. why wouldnt apple want ppl to run their os in a vmware box on windows ? it sounds like a win win win situation to me.. while all the time still winning.. There's two primary obstacles in capturing windows users away from the darkside 1. Usability of the OS(in a pure sense im sure osx is much more user friendly, just not in an allready-adapted way) 2. Availability (the product aint cheap, its a rather big leap of faith to make the 'conversion' on your own) If apple were to spit out 'demo' osx'es with the free vmware player .. omg the publicity stunt ... awsome...
