    (most)Army civ employees are crap ... they make all contractors feel like cinderella (or cindarellus) for doing all of the work they [can't]/[won't]/[incapable of doing] while they rot on the vine. Tons of tax $$$$ could be saved by cutting these leechy turds loose.

    That's not entirely true there are some difference when they are taken to msil. From a development standpoint C# offers a great way to generate code documentation (similar to JavaDoc). From a resource perspective, you will find sharper developers with C#. As for .Net i general, everything you write doesn't have to be super tiny and ultra-fast (unless ur a mindless codeslinger). It must be maintainable as well; new developers must be able to pickup what you have. If you are writing for a win platform .Net is the way to go - hands down.

    it seems like a tax should be used to pay for something releated to what the tax is levied upon (i.e. Gas Tax to pay for roads, etc). Why not tax if take a walk, tax someones feet :)

Like most things there are level .. .monkey's should be able to publish thier own content, create site's etc. .. the ability to infopath+biztalk aspect of it rocks and can be stood up a releatively short amount of time.

    Virus are more the problem with the ignorance of people that use PCs. Barring a couple exceptions, most "viruses" are social and require the person to do something explicit to get the ball rolling. What about preventative measures (i.e. like with Spybot)? Granted I use Firefox 95/5. Between extensions for httpatrack, torr, and theme support .. can't be beat.

    The Atari 400 was my first computer as well. I recall punching in BASIC programs from books and playing jumpman, miner2049r, star raiders and pacman with colored ghosts. I also remember calling POKE and seeing junk came up (not knowing what it was at the time). good times. http://www.emulators.com/xformer.htm

    Yeah its not the quickest thing (spop) and you virtually can't send any attachments :(

    The portal is nice though ... if you are just dealing with other ako users.

    Since you are coming from exchange is it just the email that you are replacing? Is the customer expected calendars, pub folders, and all of the other nick-nacks in exchange?
