    And that's a big problem. The Stallman-esque extremists who want to avoid anything that they think is in some way capitalist are just as bad, though. IMO, open source should be about writing software, making money or not protecting freedom.

    One thing I always wondered about. Since Macs are so easy to use, why does it require a "genius" to fix one?

    Well, my car is easy to use, but I wouldn't want to fix it myself. I'll leave car repair to the car geeks, and most people should leave computer repair to the computer geeks.

    Yep, a LiveCD/LiveUSB system is the best if you can use it, but a lot of public computers only allow you to boot the HD.

    But over a period of say, five years, would it cost more to bury the cables than it would to maintain aboveground equipment and repair storm damage, etc.? I wouldn't think it would take that long to at least break even.

    Just my $0.02. IANAPCE (I Am Not A Power Company Employee), so I'm probably wrong about the costs.

    I really think that the only real long-term solution to the censorship is for the Chinese government to stop it. Anything else is, like you said, not a real solution.

    Remember that God created animals in a non-technologically perfect form since their purpose is to serve humans. If He had created them perfectly, they would be better than humans. Therefore, we should not rely solely on them for inspiration in our technology as they are not optimized by Him. They were deliberately made to be inferior to humans so that we could harness them and use them for our needs. We should also avoid from mimicking God's work as we may anger Him and incur the fury of the Lord Almighty (that's not good).

    Some Christians, myself included, would disagree. The greatest honor we can give God is to look at his creation and be inspired to imitate it, since it reflects God's likeness.

    I think subcreation, as the late, great Tolkien called it, is the natural course of action. Remember Aulë and the Dwarves.

    Here's a detailed review that should tell you whatever you want to know about WRT54G(S) router models. The WRT54GL is the same as a WRT54Gv4, IIRC.
