Another technology that will increase the cost of medical care, which will increase the demand for socialized care, that will increase the taxes I and everyone else has to pay.
I'm sad to say that the 2.6 kernel is a mess. It has never worked right. Now that the Linux kernel team has given up on producing stable kernels (leaving the hard work to the distributions) and the fact that distributions are already having a hard enough time to keep themselves alive, it's safe to say that Linux is on it's deathbed.
For all practical purposes, Linux is dead.
That was just what I was going to say. Texas tends to be more conservative than California. Austin has a lot of folks from California and a decent work environment for IT and software developers. San Antonio and DFW are other good possibilities. Just look out for air pollution in DFW, it will make your eyes bleed.

Amen to that. There's much more to a healthy life than just work. Some people can be given all the praise, love, and material wealth in the world and they'd still be burned out. It's the lifestyle that makes people happy. Happiness comes from a stable lifestyle which involves responsibility. Yes, too, being in good relationships with responsible people can help you stay happy by giving you an outside opinion when they think you are going astray.
