actually there might be a point this time. you remember pentium 4? it supposed to go to 5 ghz and more but intel engineers have got all sorts of problems with approaching that speed so today most desktop cpus have stopped at about 3 ghz. instead both intel and amd prefer to add cores.
that is why i prefer a windows mobile pda - because i have the choice. if i want to have a easy-to use software for my calendar, i install something like spb mobile shell, if i want something powerful i install spb diary or pocket informant.
you bought the apple fud. phones with windows mobile could do background processes for years (htc wallaby came out in 2002) and weren't locked for third party software at all. still no worms, no phone spamming, no security nightmare.
either microsoft software is more secure or apple is successfully bullshitting everyone. i tend to the latter explanation.
A bit unrealted: how brilliant of Apple to sneak in a PDA through it's iPod market. For most consumers, it's easier to buy an iPod with PDA features, than a PDA which can play a bit of music. This will be Apple's next step in the digital lifestyle philosophy. You can no longer only carry around your music and photos, but also your docs and planner.
sorry, but this is bullshit. first, pdas could play music way before the first ipod was released. second, in terms of versatility even the iphone sucks. if you need a pda just for some basic tasks then it might be sufficient, but not if you really are a power user.
i use windows and the tabkiller addon so i never ever open a single tab. it is far easier for me to switch between the windows with alt+tab or clicking on the taskbar.
i have once flown with a small guitar tube amplifier built from spare parts and without any casing, just some pcb and a current transformer. never had a problem with that, but then again, that was in estonia and in the year 2002.
what i had a problem with was a disassembled strat clone in berlin schoenefeld. the security there couldn't believe i had a disassembled electric guitar in my bag and checked it properly for explosives.
bullshit. there is flash for windows mobile, palm (sony clie) and symbian os (a list of supported handsets). those devices have much weaker cpus than the iphone.
50 millions killed in the gulag is cold war propaganda. please do realize that the complete population of the ussr at that time was about 120 millions and 20 millions of that already died in the second world war. there is no way anyone could kill half of the population.
also fyi hitler was a catholic and stalin went to a monastery school and wanted to become a priest.
the most widespread consumer gps chipset is sirf star II. it doesn't support dgps. only the latest generation of consumer gps chipsets (sirf star III and alike) does support it. and it doesn't work well on the ground so pilots and navy are pretty much only ones who can use it.
you might not believe it, but either ones are among a minority of gps users.
navstar spread is, depending on the time of day, 5-15m so glonass is neither better nor worse (and possibly better for the north europe because the receiver won't have to "squint" that much so the signal won't be covered by large buildings and trees).
by ground based infrastructure you mean egnos/waas? only the most modern gps receivers support differential gps and most times it doesn't work anyway.
it is actually better to have glonass online at last - it makes dual mode navstar/glonass receivers a reality. such dual mode receivers would probably be much more exact.

right. the former chancellor, gerhard schroeder, is an atheist. such thing would be impossible in the usa.
exactly.
my htc universal and htc himalaya both second that.
dortmund, germany.
i have yet to see a single one yet, people use lots of htc phones instead.

livebearers like guppies or platys do screw, nearly all the time actually.
actually i like those pda phones designed and built by htc.
I am the walrus.
well, my cell phone screen lights up two seconds before an incoming call or short message.
that is not entirely correct. there are laws about compassionate use of unapproved drugs in most EU countries. same thing with off label use.
mod parent up please, it is much more informative than that what i have written.

i want my shadow hawk
there is a navigation software for trucks in europe: map&guide truck navigator
i am a developer of a truck telematics system and i use this software.
exactly. my spare time is my spare time and my employer only needs to know what i do when i am at work.
