    this wasn't german, this was bavarian inquisition. bavarians aren't real germans (actually most germans would vote for giving bavaria to austria as a gift but the austrians don't like the idea).

    well, parent used russia for example and the russian history of the second world war was quite different (they had 5 times more fatalities than whole population of denmark counted back then)

    first i wanted to point out that a national id works pretty much everywhere else in the world without the problems described by you.
    but then i remembered that for example universal healthcare works pretty much everywhere else, too.

    skills which are useful for work are taught in vocation schools. in the normal schools the people learn not for work but for life.

    and speaking for the ussr (born and went to school there) state-run education system is really efficient.

    actually it worked for the soviets. the soviet education system was very good and schooled the kids much faster.

    usa and russia were fed the same propaganda, have pretty much the same level of stupid nationalism, a comparable gap between rich and pood, high crime rates, anything-goes capitalism, and until about two years ago even the same currency.

    that's why i live in the eu.

    well, most important downside is that the criminals also arm up.

    if i am a criminal and i want to mug you and must assume that you are armed, i just play han solo with you (han shot first, i would too).

    well, many places in europe (with virtually no legal gun ownership) are in fact much safer than the usa. and the cops aren't that trigger happy either.

    actually with the new european health insurance card you can go to a doctor in any of 29 countries if you need one during the visit of any of this countries or if you have prearranged it with your health insurance company.

    if you cannot afford the complex-and-expensive knee surgery one day you'll lose your pride quite fast and cry for a nanny state.

    besides, in europe you can also go to another insurer if you don't like your healthcare. but all insurers provide basic services by law.

    i think it is france, not netherlands because afair dutch license plates are a bit shorter and dutch road signs aren't white but yellow.
