  1. Re:FLASH WARNING on HL2 Episode One Panorama Shots · · Score: 1

You may not be able to run Quicktime, but you should be able to run Java.

There's a button for Java VR in the bottom corner when you open the panorama. Unfortunatly it's restricted to a smaller window than the Quicktime panoramas, but you still should be able to see what the game looks like.

  2. Re:Doubtful and absurd: on Obesity Contagious? · · Score: 1

It would explain why the fat guy on Lost never loses an ounce of heft despite being stranded on a desert island with a bunch of Ken and Barbie-thin people eating a severely restricted diet and sweating his ass off on a daily basis.

I believe that he has offered to lose weight, but either the producers or writers have told him not to. It's the same with most actors in TV shows, where they sign a contract saying they will not make any drastic changes to their appearance.

  3. Re:Anyone actually see the movie? on Kong Mirrors Real Evolutionary Paths · · Score: 1

I went and saw it in the cinema yesterday, and after being out for a week most of the seats were full. There were a lot of people at the movies though, since it was a public holiday. According to this site, it seems that it was 2nd after LWW last week, so it's not doing too bad.

  4. Re:Blender? on Mediainlinux: Path Forward? · · Score: 1

Good to see that it's in there, even if it isn't mentioned on the list.

  5. Blender? on Mediainlinux: Path Forward? · · Score: 1, Interesting

On the software list, I could see no mention of Blender. The list did seem a little short though, but I believe that if you're going to have a specialised distribution such as this, you need to list all the relevant software packages.

  6. Re:Studio Quality? on The Place Of Modern MIDI Music? · · Score: 0

I believe the poster was refering to getting a midi off the internet, changing the instruments into more convincing ones, then redistributing it as an mp3 or something similar. In that case, a person can record their own voice over the top, making a song that sounds very similar to the original (if they can sing).

  7. Re:SORNY? on Digital Camera Failures · · Score: 0

Sorny's good, but I prefer Panaphonic.

  8. Shockwave on Leonardo Da Vinci's Personal Notebook · · Score: 0, Redundant

I'm sure they could have chosen something better to use than shockwave. If they were released as PDFs, then it would be much more accessable for those you don't have shockwave installed. There was also a weird problem in using the magnifying glass. Sometimes when releasing the magnifyer, the window would minimise, which is really annoying.
