The shuttle managed to put 355 men and women into orbit.
Ariane has put 0.
You do the math.
The fact the people were killed during 2 shuttle launches is totally irrelevant to the fact that Ariane 5 has a worse launch record than the Shuttle
Well, you're wrong with #2
Gravity waves travel faster than light, quantum mechanics/physics have things happening faster than light (ie, something affects particle A, it's clone, particle B, far away, is also affected). I may not have the terminology right, so don't jump on that.
Why not spend $100 and buy a new case? One which has larger fans which don't make noise?
Suggestion would be a Cooler Master HAF 932, or for a smaller, mid-size one, Cooler Master HAF 912
Conspiracy theorists won't care. They will always believe that there is a conspiracy. Debunk one, and they will merely find another.
For this, even if you were to fly them up there, they would find some way to disbelieve it.
There are many different types of disabilities. Some people can't watch a moving picture, but otherwise are still perfectly functional.
Having friends who have some disabilities, it is very wrong to pidgin-hole someone, because while they may be disabled in one area, they may be genious in another.
Look at Stephen Hawking, for example. One of the smartest people alive, and can't move anything. Any sort of moving captca will totally eliminate him.
So you would rather have to have paid out-of-pocket the three times in the past 15 years for whatever happened?
I noticed that you didn't say what you had claims for. Hopefully it wasn't too bad, but what would you have done if you had a huge medical bill. Let's use your example of a deer running in front of your car, while you are driving on a highway at highway speeds.
First, your car would be totaled. No if's, and's or but's about it. The cost to replace all the airbags by itself would cause the car to be totaled.
Now, what if in spite of the airbags, you lost control of the car and impacted something pretty immovable, say, an overpass. We will assume you will survive, but have huge medical bills. Over 6 months, you could concievable incur medical bills of over $400,000, depending on the extent of injuries.
Now, do you have/want to pay all that money, or have the insurance company pay that money? If you are paying $1000/year for the insurance, it would take you 400 years to recoup what the insurance company will be paying out.
Plug in your own numbers. I do not like driving in states which don't require insurance. You may consider me stupid, but I'd rather share the risk with the other insured people/cars rather than risk the financial loss myself.
There used to be over 43,000 highway deaths per year.
That has been reduced to about 33000, but the actual deaths per mile has been dropping steadily since 1996, with only 3 upticks since then.
I got this from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...
License plates don't get reused, unlike phone numbers. so, getting a new plate each year would work, until they figure out how to join records together with a common owner (SQL, anyone).
Well, there is more to life than web servers. In fact, databases shouldn't run on web servers if they have serious amounts of data, they should be on their own hardware.
Speaking of Redhat, you need to include CentOS with Redhat, since it's essentially the free version.
using this page, RedHat + CentOS = 35.6% of websites using various subcategories of Linux. You should also include Scientific Linux, but it's only less than 0.1%.
Drilling down,
CentOS has 8.3% of all websites
RedHat has 2.8% of all websites,
Debian is 10.2%
Ubuntu is 7.6%
So CentOS plus RedHat is11.1% vs Debian which is 10.2%
And of course, this is without knowing anything about all those "unknown UNIX" sites.
You should try Ubuntu or Fedora. Both are very good desktop machines, and from my experience, install sound drivers without any manual config for a large number of sound systems.
Modern systems are more than just Windows.
Every Linux system comes with a variety of scripting languages. The Bash shell is usually the first you experience, but then there is Python, Ruby, PHP (yes, it has a command-line version), and many more I can't even begin to list
Get your facts straight, and present them properly.
It was a procedural vote, and the 54 was in favor of the bill.
90% of the Republicans voted against it.
LOL. I could have written this message; multimeter works, father was ham radio operator, etc.
I built a lot of the kits, wouldn't mind trying them again.
You don't need to be fluent in the languages, but to be aware of their limitations and capabilities. If you have good people, then they will fill in the blanks for you.
The US had lots of aces during WW II. What the US did was to rotate experienced pilots back to the states, to let them teach new pilots using their extensive experience. However, not all pilots were. The following are the 4 top US aces of WW II:
Dick Bong, with 40 confirmed kills. He flew a P-38 in the Pacific
Tommy McGuire, with 38 confirmed kills. He also flew a P-38 in the Pacific
David S. McCampbell, with 34 confirmed kills
"Pappy" Gregory Boyington, with 28 confirmed kills.
The above pilots were all awarded the Medal of Honor.
Rather than bore you with more historical facts, I'll include the following link http://www.acesofww2.com/USA/USA.htm to a list of all American aces of WW II.
BTW, I'm 55, and still learning. I learned programming with an early Basic, then Pascal, some other languages, C, PHP, etc. I'm now learning Python. Interesting language, I'll be proficient in it in a few weeks.
Didn't realize that I wasn't logged in when I posted this.
CentOS, while a great community effort, is lagging too much. If you want the lated RedHat unbranded, go to http://www.scientificlinux.org/
Quoting from their page:
"SL is a Linux release put together by Fermilab, CERN, and various other labs and universities around the world. Its primary purpose is to reduce duplicated effort of the labs, and to have a common install base for the various experimenters."
I just use it, and am slowly replacing my CentOS boxes with SL.
When you investigate any horrific accident, such as an airplane crash, train crash, etc., it always turns out that there wasn't a single cause of it, but rather a confluence of several events/actions which combined led to the tragedy.
Happened with Bigfoot.com. They advertised free unlimited email, then one day they started limiting it to 20 messages a day. I left them as soon as I was able to change all the accounts pointing to it.
Now I have my own domain, and while it's on a CPanel-based box somewhere in Texas, I can do regular nightly backups of everything, and if I need to can move it to another host and simply change the DNS.

Ummm, the fact that almost every distribution is adopting it and not giving you an alternative???
Which bible? There are almost as many versions as there are religions.
Sounds like you have a virus or malware on your computer which reports these random addresses to a third party.

This will merely accelerate our move away from Rackspace.

An amazing fact: It is a proven fact, that everyone who ever died, used to breath the air. So, if you don't want to die, don't breath the air

I have 3 old x86 systems which yes, I would call bricks. They work well, it's just that they are so old and so slow I can't even give them away.

Go to archive.org, pull up some of the pages from 2 years ago and show the client.

I suspect that the same may be here, as well.
