maybe i am missing something, but aren't there many companies that allow domain registration, and not just verisign? Granted ICANN is a monopoly, but I think I am missing the point of the lawsuit (the article does little to explain this any better)
Hmm, maybe now they can put the entire Lord of the Rings Triliogy on one disc. now, if you want to put in the extra features, that is a different story...
Microsoft putting out a buggy piece of equipment that requires the user to restart the hardware frequently? I wonder if you get the blue screen of death too...?
I am not sure you understand the point of mario if you have a problem with it's violence. Mario, since the beginning, has been bopping the characters on the head to get them out of the way. Notice, in no Mario game do chrarcters actually die, they just slide off of the screen. This game is no different. The characters do not die, heck, they roll over and get right back on the cart. So, as far as I can tell, your main problem is with competition. Well, all games (yes, even Grand Turismo 3) are built for comptetion. Competition is good. It is what compells us to do better than the status quo.
So really, I am not really seeing how this game sends the wrong message at all. In fact, I think of games out there, this is one I would want my kids to play. Clean, wholesome characters, in clean, but tough, competition...
Unfortunately, until a real interoperable, cross-platform, web-based OS comes out, we are stuck with what desktop we use. Even on the web, there are still certain sites out there that I can't visit because I choose to use a Mac over a Windows machine. Until people stop writing code that is OS specific, it will matter. God knows I am looking forward to the day when my OS is web-based!
Has anyone stated the obvious yet? The ipod video is NOT a phone...
Realistically, I don't think such a small screen will ever be useful for something longer than say a 5 minute video. Paying attention to the small screen for extended periods of time is rather annoying...
I think there is a legal difference between a branch office and a home office. A friend of mine who's company is based out of Maryland wanted to basically claim that they had offices in Pennsylvania. My friend (who lives in Pa) legally made his home office a branch office for the mortgage company he works for. So, I believe there is a legal difference there...
This is what I thought too. Again, I lived in Virginia, and worked out of Maryland. It was explained to me that I paid taxes where I lived, not where I worked. In the various states that I worked in the past, it has always been like this. To change it now would pretty much backrupt many employees, as well as small business. This simply can't, and won't be done. New York just hasn't thought it through yet. Give 'em time, they will...
This would be stupid. If this were true, then I would owe my left arm. Let me explain.
I worked as a flight attendant. I was based out of a nearby state. And very often, I would be sent to other airports to work out of there. So, could I possibly owe taxes in every state I worked out of?
I know this is telecommuting, but the idea is the same, I technically lived in one state and worked out of many others...
What's next? A Google car that is linked to Google Earth and Google Maps? They can track my destinations and the nearby stores to remind me when they are nearby. "Hungry? There's a McDonalds 2 blocks away!"
You know, Google does do a great job at putting out relevant ads when I surf the web, so much so that I don't mind clicking on them to get where I need to go. If they truly made an invasive free way of serving ads, I have no objections to that. My only question is that since this is a DVR, can you then skip the commercials that Google is trying to serve you?
Is this the sort of thing where you need like a google media device in between the satellite and your tv? If not, how long before Google decides on putting one of those out?

I know, seriously! I have been waiting many years for starcraft 2! Looks like I will have to wait many many more...
I would like further clarification in that, as I thought that Network Solutions was the big boy, and everyone else was the middle men...

now that's a business model that is imitatable!
In other news, Longhorn's price structure just increased my $126...

Man, does that seem inefficient to anyone else? Why not use a wonderful cell phone to track where people are. Much better...
Err, not...

Let me think about this... NO!!!!
For $10 million, is the USB cable included? Or do I need to spend an extra $25 for the cable?

Ah, we all lambasted Google for a supposed rumor about their DVR, but it looks like Yahoo beat them to the punch...
Looks like they are woking in Microsoft timeline for issuing patches...
The slogan should go:
"Slurm and Bachelor Chow, the meal for lonely slobs!"
Or something like that, the slogan is still a work in progress...
me, I am waiting for "bachelor chow"
mmm, mmm, that'll be good!
