Yes, but astronomy grew out of astrology. We wouldn't actually have cared much about the skies unless we made up all these stories and fortune tellings about it I think.
Did you read the seventh book? 1984, Brave New World, Catch 22, and Fahrenheit 451 is about governments or societies that pull wool over peoples eyes and makes them do things they wouldn't normally do.
Harry Potter 7 is just about the same thing, with Elves and Goblins and Giants and Magic in it.
I argued this in high school a lot. I played a lot of RPGs. A lot of this involved mental math, estimation (Three more battles until I level, four until I need a healing. WOOO!), problem solving skills, proper budgeting of items and the in game money.
Games that don't try to be educational can be educational.
Although, some people do spend a lot of time worrying about playability, I remember I played Where in Time is Carmen Sandiago like 3 times.
This is a legitimate concern. However, if we have mass mechanization, and there is no longer a shortage of labor, maybe we can adopt a more socialist stance, and give the unemployed what they need, after all, we don't need them to work anymore.
Yeah, I go to Stony Brook University. While I don't pretend it's the cream of the cream of the crop, it deserves at least one iteration of "cream".
I know quite a few people have said "Well, I couldn't get in to Stony Brook" or were ecstatic upon receiving an acceptance letter.
Considering I'm in their Honors College, I'm pretty proud.
So maybe it isn't as good as MIT (which I got rejected from) but honestly, for engineering it's about on par with RPI (which accepted me). And much cheaper.
My friends can tell when one of my friends is over and using my AIM account, because she doesn't feel like the letters y,o,a, and e are important in "you" and "are".
And I do, although I still sometimes speak in fragments and forget periods at the end.
The "Just a sec, have to concentrate on traffic" works for the third concern with actual people in the car.
You also have a creative opinion of "dead weight". The purpose of a car is to transport people. If the people are in the car, they probably should be transported.
The first concern can be mitigated in many cases by telling the people (if possible) to sit in the back.
I think the real problem is that people don't know whether or not they can handle a cell phone and driving at the same time.
Israel doesn't have problems with airplane hijackers because their TSA counterparts check based on instinct/gut feelings/profiling rather than every 20th person.

18, girl was (and still is) 20. (I'm just 19)
Haven't had that problem so far, however, probably because the sex was kinda lousy.
I'm pretty sure my school sells Trojans for $0.25 so there.
I upgraded my home computer from school from Edgy to Fiesty with no trouble.
Everything can be done remotely.
Also, cars are remarkably inefficient when compared to giant centralized power stations, except maybe hybrids, and even then probably not.
Well, one thing is, it's more redundant than most systems of tubes we're used to. It routes around blockage, typically.
Also other things he said at the same time were stupid, like how people bit-torrenting movies made his e-mail arrive late.
From what I've seen on this article, ntfs-3g works. So, not officially, but it does work.
Then reading more into it, some say it can. So, look on the website. Sorry for the false info.
Other people have commented, only read-only. So NTFS is not the solution, I guess.
sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g
Doesn't that just enhance my point?

Don't worry, we can cure that.
I once had to type someone's phone number into a microwave to tell it to someone.
Where are you buying this enclosure! Mine cost $25 on Newegg!
And $100 will get you 500GB at present.
I thought the philosophy on this one was, a consumer market OS should never need the command line unless something breaks.
Having it there for those who want it apparently hurts it?
I mean, it's like having a lock on the hood to your car, or even better, no hood at all.
Distros like Ubuntu have the comfort of the command line, but I've rarely NEEDED to use it.

With a bow and arrow, made of local tree branches and sinew, because, the metal mine is 8 towns over.
More importantly, how much ENERGY.
Yeah, flashbulbs take a lot of power, but not so much energy. It's all released at once.
I'd think teleportation is somewhat similar.

Oh wait, this is America, fuck the poor.

I'm pretty sure they profile every 1th person.
