I read about this story a couple of days ago in the Metro newspaper... complete with a photo of the headset. It's not 360, and each officer only gets one camera. The force has just been given 8 of them, for 8 people to wear.
Hmm, "you couldn't make it up"? Apparently, OriginalArlen, you did.
Wait... Can I just clarify that you're saying "I like sex" is a unique statement by Mahir? You're seriously stating that he created using those 3 words in that order, and that anyone saying they like sex is just ripping him off?
I mean, the ping-pong... well, I guess it's not that popular anymore, it's not like any games on the sport have been released recently by Rockstar Games for the X-Box 360, so I can kinda see your point... but liking sex? I mean, I know this is Slashdot, the stereotypical image of this site's readership is a bunch of people who may not know what sex is, but come on.
This has been clarified already several times above, but once again; the texture used IS a female texture, not a reuse of the male texture. This is obvious both from the filename (which states it's a female texture,) and from actually seeing it; it doesn't look anything like a male torso wrapped onto a female model. I've actually tried the mod to find out for myself; have you?
Well, my guess is that they'd watch the video. 2 - 4 frames a second just vanishing would create very noticeable juddering, especially on older 2D games, and the sound would be messed up. Not to mention they could just compare the movement speed of the character in your run with self-made footage of the game and notice it's significantly faster. And if your time is significantly shorter than someone elses with no apparent improvements, that's suspicious.
Besides, we already know they can deal with these kind of inconsistencies; note, for example, the difference in game speed for the PAL and NTSC versions of Metroid Prime (amongst others.)
This, of course, all assumes one thing; that you're good enough at the game to get a time somewhere around what the best speedrunners get anyway. And if you're on that level, and still feel the need to cheat to get ahead, you're not like any runner I know of.
Like many before you, you've stripped out possibly the most important word in that saying. The correct form is "presumed innocent until proven guilty."
That doesn't mean everyone is an innocent person when they walk into a police station, it just means they aren't judged and sentenced until there's some proof that they're guilty. Wanting to be able to make sure a person is still around once you've checked and possibly found some proof isn't, in itself, a breach of that concept, it's just good common sense.
The question is one of where you draw the line; is 90 days excessive? I think it probably is, although certainly not nearly as excessive as the whole Guantanamo Bay situation... but that's getting off-topic.
You know, it's actually possible that they do? There's a service called Shazam where you can call them up, hold the phone up to some music that's playing, and then they'll text you back the title of the song. It's always worked for me, even when I was beign played the song by a send who over Google Talk.
If the tech exists to identify a song from a 20 second clip at phone quality from a low-quality source, I dread to think how quickly and accurately they could do it with direct access to whatever mp3/ogg/wma/wav you were trying to share.

I'd offer an even better response, but I don't want my post to clog up the tubes.
You're probably not going to want to here this, but those were weren't females, they were *transvestites*. I wish I was making that up.

Never, ever, give your root to another person.
