  1. I want green power on CIA Investing in Modular Green Energy · · Score: 2, Interesting

I always mention to follow co-workers that we need to make green power available cheaply for everyone. Imagine each house with several mini wind turbines on the roof and the back roof with solar panels (to not take away from curb apeal :). Wouldn't it be great to run the AC as much as you want and not worrying the cost? So how much will these cost?

  2. Cheaper in Canada? on The Problems with Broadband in America · · Score: 1

My cable connection with cogeco (cogeco.ca) is good, I have no issues with the speed (up to 640 Kbps according to their site) but it isn't super cheap. It's $40/month, and that's with a discount for getting their various other digital services, which amount to another $80/month. I would certainly like to get it cheaper ;)

  3. Evil upgrade on Bacteria-killing Pencil · · Score: 1

How long before someone upgrades it to make it more powerful? Or someone points the thing at someone's eye. Or... (I know, you shouldn't always look at the negative) It's a great idea, but should it be sold as a public device?

  4. Re:Trillian on It's Time To Take Back Instant Messaging · · Score: 1

I've used Trillian for years, and quickly paid the $25 because it worked so good and the developers deserve it. I've had the occasional connection issue, but that's with MSN or ICQ, not Trillian. I highly recommend it ;)

  6. Ban it all on Yahoo Closes Chat Rooms to Anyone Under 18 · · Score: 2, Insightful

We should ban everything from kids under 18 to protect them. Keep them in a protected shell until we release them to the world when they reach 18. Come on... there are so many ways around this in particular. Why can't parents take responsibility for where their kids go and what they say. If you don't trust them, then keep the computer in the same room as the TV for example.
