everybody in the future is depicted as wearing those aluminum suits, cause their is so much microwaves traveling through the air!!! god now i get it!!! i always wondered about that.
this argument really comes down to what level of the binary abstraction of computers you really want to go to. some want to know the lowest level down to just writing assembly, but then you'd forever have pedants claiming that coder isn't "hardcore" because he doesn't know how to code it in binary for a particular platform.
I'll be honest, i already believe if your really interested in computer science. You can't go wrong with learning C and for higher level thinking learn Python. They not only compliment each other so well, but you will learn so much using both of them. Programming ultimately is about thinking and putting your ideas to code. VS and RAD tools like this, though helpful, only encourage reliance and laziness. The situation is only worsened if that individual doesn't have a foundation in solid programming skills.
I think it says a lot though that petzhold writes a book about windows and VS and then basically bites the hand that feeds him.
It's just me and the code, and for awhile, I feel like a real programmer again.
To make the modulator, Harris and Miller's research group had to buck the conventional wisdom that physics wouldn't allow it, says student researcher Yu-Hsuan Kuo.
I love it when we do that. always so tired of the overly intelligent who know everything about everything spouting their verbiage on the possibilities of possibilities.
in all this mess. Thank you for being open minded and realising paying canada a compliment isn't a death wish. You are more than welcome to move here if you wish. Believe it or not, quebec and alberta have some of the hottest women around. and they all natural. we also have all the other stuff my fellow canadian said, beer, heathcare etc..also i can pretty much say anything without fear of being sued..oh and i'm typing this in my living room while watching my 500 channel satellite tv and surfing/. on a 100Mbps connection.
not to start a flame, but dude you sound like a typical american. have you been to france? i have, and it isn't anything like you say. little cars? poor healthcare? wow, their health care kicks U.S ass hands down. As for the work hours don't hate cause you live your life for the almighty dollar - its not the same all over the world. Americans sell a dream via hollywood, but the truth is, the u.s needs cleaning up bad. Most of the world is getting buy just fine, and actually have better infrastructure in place than the u.s. healthcare, telecommunications are just a few.
I'm pretty sure, computer makers on seeing how useless and error prone their hardware was, would form some sort of organization and standards would be adopted and implemented...etc. Think about it like how C was fragmented and ISO/ANSI stepped in. I'm fairly sure its about the bottom line and manfacturers would turn around quick if their product wasn't up to par. Not to mention how it would foster competition which is always food for the consumer. You don't need the FCC to tell you this.
I think you have a point. For example the development of the internet came about as a response to the soviet union's sputnik program. Perhaps the booming economy of China, the technological progression of japan and the slow demise of the american economy will help them to wake up. In anycase at least the americans will still have hollywood and they can export that and the "american dream".
Why should I (as John Q. Public American) have to pay taxes for the UN? What has it done for me lately?
It could probably do alot for you if you ppl would listen to what they say sometimes and quit ignoring their suggestions (like going into iraq..) and only listenning to them when it is convenient for you.
quit being hypocrites and thinking you guys can survive without the rest of the world. No country is an island (and no wise ass cracks either). We all need each other. Its so funny to me how/. is supposed to be a meeting of intelligent ppl but they bicker and whine and say the stupidiest shit sometimes. Wake up ppl we need to work together not be fighting one another we have much more important things to be doing - like bringing down microsoft( j/king only partly).
get a nokia 8890 or 88xx. I have the former for five years now, and each time a new phone comes out I check out all the crap they have on it and shake my head. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of half ass features that are only meant for content providers to make more money. These new phones suck!
i gotta agree with you. if sony was a kid in the school yard, he'd be constantly chided and admonished to "play fair" and "share" with the other kids. The one thing i don't like about the new blu-ray format is the fact of sun signing a deal to have JAVA used exclusively in there format for menus and the interface - seemingly. I mean serioulsy why couldn't they just used Python. I'm so sick of people bypassing python as a less than adequate language I'm almost tempted to go to the compeitor. Though I do have to admit I like the name "Blu-Ray".
think about it which one sounds cooler?
"Dude you have that on blu-ray?"
or "dude can you get that on hd-dvd?"
serioulsy the latter, what a mouthful?
But really who is gonna be sitting down with a nice cup of tea? they'll just find something else they just remembered they have to do to keep them running around with their heads cut off. I'm a techie and love some of the technologies that are out today, but sometimes...sometimes, i long for the old days. when seemingly life was simpler.
Thats all fine and dandy to map your position when your out in the city or near cell towers and the like, what i really want to do is to be comfortable enough to take my cell out with me into the boonies and be assured that should anything go wrong i'll be able to triangulate my where abouts and send it to the local rescue service who are looking for me. Who really needs to know where they are when they still in the city, there are plenty of existing technoligies that already do that.
live.com wow, wish i was the one who owned that name. Imagine how much money they payed for it.

yeah you can do both. or maybe both is already being done. it only comes into existance when you look at it and notice it and or choose.

Probably, the intro they have for downloads is pretty sick!! but why does the british lady sound like she's about to asphixiate(sp?)?
