i have a pay as you go service and i know when i request call logs, they've told me that they don't keep it for pay as you go customers. does anyone know anything about this? I still have the same phone from five years ago so i don't remember the procedure, but when i bought my phone, i bought the phone versus a phone and a plan then i bought some pay as you go vouchers, i don't remember my name being on anything...i could be wrong. I use a well known carrier in canada.
it nice to see MTL being represented on/. I think many down south or elsewhere might not be aware just how technological savy and on the cutting edge this city is.
i don't mind using the GUI - google user interface;) if they can link to accurate and consistant info from the stm over here. When i said spread themselves thin though i was commenting on them attempting to map ALL states and provinces Public transit systems, i have no doubt that regional systems already in place will probably be better than some of what google can provide - but i am interested to see the final product.
seriously where i live i already have sufficient information on how my public transit system works. is it not the same for other cities?
not to mention..google seems to be trying to do everything, aren't they worried they gonna spread themselves too thin.
I'll never understand this about the states. they area capitalists and yet they still implement something such as anti-comptetice and fair-use. to me it seems if your're gonna be all about the "benjamins" be about it. but i guess the moto is, you can get big, just not too big. wonder what the cap is.
First off, i just like to say thanks for that link. RIM, you get what you deserve? c'mon who does that! patent a keyboard layout. do computer manufacturers have to pay fees for the QWERTY layout. The patent office seriously needs to wake up - they are killing inovation. I wonder if Canada has stupid patents like this, in a way i can understand a capitalist environment like the states...anyway
i was down in the states last week fully intent on getting a 8700c, because i had heard some of them were unlocked. I thought it would add to the cool factor to bring it back up to canada and have ppl see it. I went into a local radio shack and this lady litterally sold me on the treo 650 - and i'm in marketing in my day job, i don't get sold.
they both have there good points and bad, but for me what decided it was the lawsuits against RIM, and the fact that they haven't yet showed or told us what this back up technology is they have should they lose. I liked the layout of their keyboard, its more spacious than the treo - looks like treo didn't take advantage of that liscening fee then. the treo i is convergence device that everyone is looking for and palm is going in the right direction. The BB does have a better design and a nicer screen, but at the same time i don't believe i have to learn JAVA to code for the treo - especailly since the 700w is going to be running windows mobile 5. So those were the deciding factors for me. I still couldn't believe i was sold like that, however the treo is an impressive device an one that everytone is trying to do thought from different angles - with all the camera, phone, video capture etc -Apple with its ipod, the razr with upcoming support of itunes, etc
Not everybody can rap like P. Diddy, but if you wear his clothes and represent yourself as if you were part of his culture, you too can become cool.
hoookayyyyy..easy there buddy. trust me rapping like puffy isn't a compliment. Thats just for white ppl who don't know diddly about hip hop and get the marketing hype of the industry so to them diddy == cool.
on two other notes, does that fact that i'm juggling two women now not make me a geek. I still code in C and python. and why is it that the women in that "geek calendar" either look constipated or scared. jenna, chelsea, lilac looks like she's on crack and jesus don't get me started on barbera. C'mon there are actually hot geek girls.
i couldn't agree more. i dont' know when artists and even the general populace will realise that the world going digital is one of the best things that could ever happen. We now have the power to sway the dinosaurs of old, now is the public's time to actaully say something and do. We can't say it to our bosses - blog it. they don't realise we don't want the archaic packaging of cd's and DRM - create a p2p network. The power of the compiler has been unleashed, information not only wants to be free, it wants to dissemenate and god help those who stand in its way.
When I buy a CD my goal is to put the music on my mp3 player. To do that I might have to go through a dozen different smaller tasks before I can achieve my goal. It is not unrealistic just a few years ago (or even today for some people) to first rip the wav file, then encode to a desired format, add id3 tags via cddb, store the files in some home grown system, and finally transfer the files to the mp3 player.
seriously, not trolling, but this really isn't that big a deal to do. most jukeboxes do this for you automatically anyway. Maybe not on linux - i don't know - but jeez even wmp does this. Are we really getting that lazy. Next your gonna tell me you code in JAVA and forgot C.
Obviously most Americans believe there are problems with their country, but not too many think the entire place is rotten or there would have been another revolution
perhaps, but then again pigs don't know pigs stink and you don't know what you don't know.
1) i'd like to see how MINIX compares
2) since MINIX is under a BSD style liscence who is to say M$ didn't steal code or concepts from them, not like they haven't before. HOTMAIL, DOS etc..
you guys gotta excuse me, but this article really annoys me. Does it bother anyone else or is it just me?
AJAX brings together some hot properties, Javascript, HTML/DHTML and HTML
1) i didn't know javascript was hot!! WTF?
2)HTML/DHTML and HTML? AGAIN WTF? lets try CSS/XHTML javascript and xml. quit repeating yourself.
i really hate this article, it actually causes a visceral reaction in me. I don't even know why/. put a link to it, it sounds like marketing drivel from not tech oriented type touting the next "HOT" tech thing. I really have to wonder if she can even code, or does she just own the company or is some VC with her head up her ass who thinks js and java are the same.
While AJAX has recently gone mainstream, it has been in use for several years, mostly on the esoteric fringe of Web development
yeah you could have left out esoteric!! we get it! web development.
I believe AJAX would have made its way into the broader conscience even without Google's help. It was just a matter of time
Maybe, but how long has "AJAX" been around again and not many did *ish with it?
Why is Microsoft so interested in AJAX
Who cares and Why do you think Moron?
The fact that AJAX is platform independent is a tremendous advantage for both customers and application developers
Well technically....its still dependant on the browser which is still dependant on the OS which is....
you also stole my phrase i personally coined. mod you down!!;)seriously i did come up with it and its trademarked. it should be be Techhype (tm). Also trademarked are windows, linux, bsd and a few other names and lingo's i have lying dormant so when someone like you comes and uses i SUE YOUR ASS!!
According to the site, "SandStorm simultaneously collects, correlates, and analyzes data on multiple computer systems and departs, leaving no trace of its activities
How the hell can a goverment - who has so much internal bickering and bureacracy going on, can't even co-ordinate an efficient rescue mission after a hurricane on their OWN SOIL, AFTER THEY JUST GOT TAKEN OUT BY TERROISTS and had ample warnings, and implement RFID tags in passports knowing the security risks and exploits available - expects us to believe they can actually take their collective heads out of their ass and deliver on this. C'mon get your shit togather first on the home front, like savings lives, increasing awareness for science education, available cheap broadband..yada, yada, yada - then come talk to me about this. It really comes down to this. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!
see my sig
just like you can't patent clicks? and a method for transporting 1 & 0's over the internet? just google: stupid patents. To the richer goes the spoils especially in the States where the moto is "in dollars we trust" and god is just a synonym for money.
However, HBO and its subsidiary channels have used CGMS-A to restrict users from making more than a single copy of its broadcasts,
this explains why an episode of entourage i recorded on my panasonic hd wouldn't record to dvd, funny thing is i recorded it another day and it went to dvd fine. I wonder if this was the CGMS-A in action.
According to the MPAA, the legislation is necessary to help shift the industry toward digital content, with the content restrictions such a format allows.
This is pure Bull cause i still have superman 4 here on vhs and my panasonic can't record it to the hd so i can archive it to disk - because its copy protected. IT litterally says "this work is copy protected" !!
With Ajax, you're basically using 100% of what a web browser can do. Ajax is too crappy. html + css + javascript + xmlhttprequest +.... Too many complexity to build a FUCKING GUI (god damn, just thing about that horrid javascript language, why it was added as a "patch" on top of html instead of redefining html and doing it right). And it can't scale. Ajax is the maximum you can get from today's technology
Mod you up man. The way the marketing departments and even some "geeks" jump on these "new" buzzwords is akin to ppl lapping up the new gadgets. like the new rim 8700c. The sh*t doesn't take pics, and i know RIM can include a bigger HD etc..etc..so don't start marketing this crap to me.
Seriously who cares AJAX is nothing new and its too convuluted IMHO to be effiecient. Just like these all in one cellphones that do everything but do nothing good. Redifine the product, make it efficient, make it succint and then release it. I for one will not fall victim to the TechMarketing hype!
what do you expect, microsoft has been conditioned now. once you get burned you don't do the same thng again. They ignored the significance of the net in the early days and continued to push office. Google and other companies came along and showed just important it was. Then OSS became popular as well...do the math. they are caught between a rock and a hard place. The good thing for them is that they are not trying to determine the market this time, they seem to be trying to adapt to it otherwise they know they'll die.
the U.S. needs to wake up. its way deeper than what they think http://www.physorg.com/news8992.html

yeah right!! i'd be rolling in it now if i'd have bought some stock. darn those nay sayers talking about a tech bubble!!!

one of those dudes alot like 'ol billy WTF? i wonder if they picked him for geek added effect.

well with the new bio printer you can create an extra tit or two for your boo - au naturel!
now we need a /. type manager to edit out the dupes and shitty articles bumble heads put up here. I shall dub it the SLASHCRAP manager.

That always irritated me about JAVA dependant site. not to start a flame war, but its just so bloated! its too bad Grail never took off.
