And yet there is a scene in The Day The Earth Stood Still where a group of doctors have a quick meeting in a hospital hallway after examining Klatuu. All of them light up.
There is an explorer bug that fixes itself if you close and reopen it. This normally can be replicated doing a lot of folder moves from drive to drive either cut/paste or drag/drop. Left side folders in an HD shows a truncated list (random folders in alphabetical order) while right side shows all the folders. Collapse and reopen a hd on the left side does not refresh the list. Renaming a missing left side folder using the right side window inserts the renamed folder in the left side but still doesn't update the whole list. By closing explorer and restarting it will populate all the folders under the HD letter. I have about 5 drives and I move a lot of folders around so I tend to notice this sort of thing. It could be a file system bug. In another example I was organizing images into different folders based on a timeline. When I finished and checked the contents of these new folders, I found that some files were missing or in the incorrect folders. Even taking into account human error, it worries me that I can't rely on these basic functions without double checking. I have no choice but use this Win 7 Ultimate OS server for the foreseeable future.
Not sure if zombie is the right term here. 1. Get dead woman (eg a corpse donated for scientific experimentation. You don't want to break the law do you?) 2. Resurrect her or find female zombie. Either is pretty difficult but I would find a vampire. 3. Kill resurrected woman or zombie (head shot for zombie type btw) - That is not illegal! 4. Drink beer and scotch. 5. Go all necrophiliac on the redeaded body. 6. Enjoy.
This reminds me of the hypothetical apocalyptic scenario when there are only vampires and zombies left on the planet. Who would win? My bet is on the zombies, but that would create a new specie - the Vampire Zombie which would eventually rule the world.
I don't have anything to say... I tried to think of something but nothing at all came to mind. The whole experience was disappointing, from the moment I closed FF and updated to v36, re-logged into/. and clicked on the link to find out what the cockroaches would 'feel' in 100,600 years from now. Probably nothing as sound can't travel in space. No big bang here... move along pls.
I think the appropriate reference here is Golgafrinchan Ark B "These tales of impending doom allowed the Golgafrinchans to rid themselves of an entire useless third of their population. The story was that they would build three Ark ships. Into the A ship would go all the leaders, scientists and other high achievers. The C ship would contain all the people who made things and did things, and the B ark would hold everyone else, such as hairdressers and telephone sanitizers. They sent the B ship off first, but of course the other two-thirds of the population stayed on the planet and lived full, rich and happy lives..."
I'm pretty sure that you guys are making all this up. It looks like cern geeks keep inventing theoretical particles, then search for them, find something that almost fits, then theorizes that another particle must exist, look for that until you find something that almost fits, then look for another particle etc. etc. etc. It's like those astrophysicists. They have no idea either and keep making up hypotheses, backed up by arcane invented maths using as many dimensions as they can so they can postulate weirder scenarios, trying to link up the micro-cosmic and macro-cosmic. Anyway, doesn't all this reek of 'ether'? - You know - an invisible matter that pervades space?
What utter crap. The anonymous reader has it all wrong. It's obviously made up and is inaccurate and so are the assumptions. 1. Having MS apps is a boon. Better than the equivalent android crap. 2. Windows Phone has made a mark and a discerning buyer will choose this over most android devices. No need to root it. 3. If a manufacturer wants to go pro, then they will (and do) provide a Windows phone in their line-up. 4. Onedrive and Office+ the camera roll is a phenomenally good setup. Far superior than the google/android equivalent.
Don't allow your generic hatred for MS and Apple cloud your judgement. Do some reading and ask around before you poo poo the concept.
Yeah my neighbours don't talk to me either or even look at my house, probably because I go out on my balcony and pee off it. Now there's a large patch of burnt grass below. Also the wood floor and balustrade had started to rot at the pee point from dribble so I had to change my preferred spot.
A good post +1 Re: Hungary I do believe that Orban has completely repaid the debt and threw out the IMF. There is a very negative view on adopting the Euro in Hungary as many Hungarians borrowed Euros but could only pay the loan back in Forints. The last I heard, Orban had changed this as well, converting these loans into Forints. He maybe a bit crazy, ocd etc and extremely Nationalistic, but in my opinion he succeeded in bringing the country out of a financial mess (and into another one:)) Slovakia with the Euro, has a higher standard of living simply because they're happy to follow Merkel's path. Hungary is soon to follow because of the massive re-industrialization by Germany (eg new Mercedes factory) due to cheaper labour costs. Hungary as a people will not allow Russia or Germany to take the country again voluntarily. They need some respite after the last 100 years and the socialist opposition can see that plainly. They have lost ~ 75% of their previous dominions since 1919 with no thanks to the US. Consequently, there are huge minority groups of Hungarians all throughout the Serb/Romanian/Transylvanian lands and Slovakia/Ukraine to the north. The loss of land has seriously affected the economy of Hungary with no hope of reinstating political borders to follow the ethnic one.
...has been necessary since Og used a rock against Mog instead of a his bare hands
It was Eegaah and not Mog. Check your facts before posting.
As for the silly Laser debate so far, I'm pretty sure that the chemical based laser weapon so far tested is not in the visible spectrum. So firing a green laser at a green balloon reflects it. Unlike Star Wars or Star Trek, lasers travel at the speed of light. Just like switching a torch on/off. Targets would be missile and planes and not mist enshrouded battleships.
Then they should be taken out and shot... or maybe forced to listen to the Guantanamo Bay hit list. There were so many occasions where I purchased the CD, trying to replace a vinyl/cassette copy and ended with disappointment. Thanks for the edification though. It just goes to show that the original mix was so much better than the follow up.
It's personal choice. Although I do like some of the apres Baroque, none in my opinion equates with JS who is light as opposed to the depressing negativity of the early 20th century. On that, I appreciate someone like Mozart, but I'd rather listen to Vivaldi.
Ask him about the RIAA Equalization that is inherent in vinyl pressings. Everyone seems to forget about this. Vinyl can't physically record analog dynamic range, so the RIAA EQ drops the bass a few notches that the amp SHOULD compensate before it goes to the speakers. If you have the function to cut the RIAA EQ on your amp, then try it. Without it, the sound is thinner, bass response is clean but not there as much. Even as late as the 90's, some of those vinyl pressings that were 're-engineered' for CD are terrible because the audio engineer ignored the EQ curve. A common complaint on AAD CDs was poor bass response. That's why.
He's the man alright! I would look/listen to Elizabethan roots that influenced him as well. Everything after him in the classical world seems to be a disappointment.
On local FM about a decade or 2 ago, there was a program that sent BASIC (cassette code). All you had to do was to record the code on your own cassette, load it on your computer (Commodore and Radio Shack) and bingo!
The only downside of this Damon, is that radio by wire can be hacked with a signal sent to make appliances use max or min power. I understand that appliances themselves will operate within their own range but I am not 100% positive that a reciever can be made to completely shut down or placed in standby as a spoofed power blackout. So there must be safeguards to avoid this, either by the manufacturer or by an add-on device.
Then again, an argument could be made that the fulcrum for the advancement of our species occured with the invention/introduction of true perspective in art, which isn't even technology.
Almost. You can see true perspective in statues and facades in pre dark age Europe and the Mediterranean. The flat non-perspective that you are referring to signifies the importance of every object on a panel. That's why you get floating ships in the background much larger than they should be ~ people in the foreground smaller than the subject in the middle. You are really talking about renaissance realism which incorporated true perspective on panel work.
The biggest change imho is the burning of masses of fossil fuels (including radioactive matter). That would be a measurable criteria.
This is a brilliant move. The ability to have unfettered net access (although with long ping rates) would be a world wide information source. Sure you'll get the newbie crazies, but you'll also expose millions to the web in whatever moral and ethical state it happens to be in at the time.
There should be a term for that - a term that describes or rates the ethical 'average' of the web at any given moment, perhaps on a continuum. If there isn't one at the moment then I have just coined "Nethical" or if that's too unbearable then maybe "Webethic" as in webethic state or degree.
OTOH this is a USA phenomena and not worldwide. It's generally only in the US that there is such a schmozzle over this. The standard right wing response "The evidence isn't in yet." is still being used, or it's some kind of hoax. The right wing is making (or has made) world perception of the USA's public attitude as a bunch of morons willing to believe non-fact checked science. All the Koch bros/Fox are doing is discrediting the intelligence of the general US public. The impression is that the general US public is listening to them and believing them is so real that whether it is true or not, it really doesn't matter.
Finally. The thread is so hung up with socialism that they've ignored Nationalism! Now there is nothing wrong with Nationalism and more countries should move towards its goals. You can have right or left wing Nationalism. Nationalism can exist in all the political continuum. It can go far as xenophobia or as welcoming as global, but you can still celebrate nationalism no matter what.

Better to do both, standard rail to Tornio with a tunnel to Sweden further south.

The problem was just shoddy engineering

OTOH Why not make a dance to visualize code?
I sent the Hungarian dance link to my Magyar uncle who is somewhat computer illiterate. This'll show him how binary can solve simple order.
