That's ridiculous. You stand in front of the mirror so the shadow of your head on the center of the mirror is covering the reflected image of the boat, then you're aimed correctly. Geez, how much more simple can you get? If you need greater accuracy, involve a paper towel tube.
I should patent that... "A method of doing business by correctly aiming mirrors using the shadow of your melon and common sense."
LOL! It reminds me of when FSU started their phone registration. Your username and password were your social then the month and day of your birthday.
Some girl pissed off my (now) ex, who worked at one of the school libraries, so on the last day of registration she looked up the girls social and birthday on the library computer, then logged into the phone registration and dropped all her classes.
Man that was a vengeful bitch I was married to... but she sure was funny.
It's like those old LED watches that you had to push the button to see the time. Before you push the button it's in superposition of having the right and wrong time, it's not until you observe it that the field collapses to show you which it is.
I disagree. "more" is an adverb modifying "mainstream", which in turn modifies Linux. Try subsituting the context and it makes total sense: "The Prius is less polluting than more mainstream SUVs"; i.e. the Prius is less poluting than SUVs, which are more mainstream.
I'm not saying the sentence couldn't benefit from a little better punctuation or a slight restructuring, but I don't agree that it can only be interpretted the way you choose to.
does Xen allow you to change a host OS from having 0.1 of a virtual processor to 2 virtual processors on the fly?
Not without CPU level hardware support. I don't know if this tiny mention of support means they will have the features required for that level of control, but it's something that piqued my interest.
I have yet to see anything other than a statement that AMD and Intel will be adding features to their next line if chips that will allow Xen to run virtualized OSes without modification. But, if that comes to pass, we may be looking at the gap between Power/5 and AMD/Intel virtualization becoming much smaller.
It sounds like they could benefit from a practice in Xtreme Programming. The test cases should be written before the patch is written and submitted with the patch. The test cases would then go into a regression framework and the regression test must be passed before a release.
I'm not sure I can figure out what side of the fence you're on.
So, it's okay to create a factory for fertilized eggs and destroy the leftovers if it means someone who couldn't have a child naturally can grow one rather than adopt, but it's not okay to create them for the potential benefit of millions of people that are already on earth and suffering from debilitating diseases?
If you find it morally or ethically objectionable to destroy human embryos then you'd better get down to your local fertility clinic and start protesting. They routinely fertilize 50-70 eggs for implantation and when one (or four or eight) finally takes, the remaining dozens are destined either for stem cell research or the incinerator.
At least in research they're giving their 'lives' to the possible benefit of may sick individuals. Otherwise, in the vocabulary of the Anti-Choicers, they're just abortions by the crate load.
The question becomes "What time do you start work over there?" "What time do you wake up over there?"
You have to ask that anyway. Just because I start work at 8am in Denver doesn't mean I can assume that everyone everywhere starts work at 8am. I can't even assume that in the *same* timezone.
Anyone with a background in math will tell you base 12 or base 60 is much better to do math in. The more integer divisors your base has, the easier it is to do division without going into fractions. In a 12 hour day, what's half of that, or a third or a quarter? It's even better in a 60 minute hour where you have a factors of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 30. What do you have for 10? 2 and 5. 100? 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25 and 50. Don't push for getting rid of base 60 time, push to change our number system to base 12.
Oh, but that's not the correct interface you are describing, you mixing mouse metaphors with keys. In Google maps you grab the map and move *it* in the direction of the pointer motion. Therefore pulling the wheel towards you should pull the map towards you and vice-versa.
You prefer CVS over SVN because you can do a deployment with two (non-atomic) commandos (tag, update) instead with three (atomic) ones (remove, copy, update)?
I prefer atomic commandos. GI Joe, the great american hero!

With AMDs commitment to support the Xen hypermanager calls in their next chips, the partitioning advantage that Sun has will be drifting away, soon.
I have personally dated 14+32i women, and trust me... it can get pretty complex.
heheheheheheheheheh... math humor... heheheh heheheh heheheh

I think that should read, "Unfortunately, the site uses coldfusion"

Aw, go play with yourself, that was funny. I'd blow a mod point if I hadn't already posted to this article.
What are you, some kind of jackass? Here's the vulnerability:
1. Connect to a P2P network
2. Spoof your upload ratio
3. ???
4. Profit!!!

Which is why I use Gaim on whatever platform I'm on.
You lost all my respect the instant you mentioned "Java API". Go buy a Mac, Java Fan-Boi.
But the obvious downside of that is you live in Saskatchewan (Canada).

Do you mean 24/7 or do you mean 24/365. 24/7/365 is just redundant. I could possibly see 24/7/52

You are an office of freaks! Krispy Kreme's are the best.
Why is this on Ask Slashdot and not a subversion forum or mailing list?
