Just do what my school does and make assignments worth 10 - 15% and expect some noise. For a lot of professors, assignments are really only meant to keep the student up to date on the material.
The students that rely on WolframAlpha will only end up screwing themselves over.
I'm a Physics Undergrad student at the University of Waterloo, and I am definitely excited. This will add a lot of value to my degree, and reputation for the physics department in general.
I believe they are trying to combine the cores into a single processor at the hardware level, rather than software. This would almost certainly be multiples faster than any optimizations you could make to your code.
iptables, in this case, can be considered an all purpose tool. Sure, there may be security flaws in it, that is beside the point. The ability to configure a system to your specifications is necessary to provide a truly secure system. Where is the customization on hitting a checkbox to block FTP?
When hitting that button, you would in effect, be giving all control/how/ it blocks it. Using iptables gives the administrator more control over the system, versus your option.
This might be a way to drop all old hardware support by deleting driver, free up some space I suppose. They can't run the OS anyway, so it's possible. What's slashdot's take on this?
That's the best soviet russia joke I've heard in a long time.

Yeah, but that's the awesome part, once you buy one, you theoretically have infinite.
But how do you know? Have you seen the universe before consciousness. If so, how?
They spell it "da Vinci" and pronounce it "da Vinchy". Foreigners always spell better than they pronounce. -- Mark Twain
Did anyone else read "100,000 gajillion cells"?
...it's not rechargable?

A server built for security makes sure that dumb administrators can't mess it up.
Not at all, it's implimenting better method for administrators to tackle security.
Question: Where can you find a distro/daemon an admin can't mess up?
