I'll start working on "W". It will be difficult to program in though, because it will randomly blow shit up :-)

  2. Re:remember the carnagie melon self guided vehicle on C# In-Depth · · Score: 1

Unfortunately, most .NET coders are drawn to the language because it has features like this that are designed to make it easier for them to code, so they don't usually want to know that it is harder than they expected.

Trust me, I know... I've worked with people like this :-)

  3. Re:remember the carnagie melon self guided vehicle on C# In-Depth · · Score: 2, Informative
I believe you're speaking of this story that was covered on slashdot. The problem was not an issue with C#, but an issue with Princeton's code. They were keeping references to objects, which in turn kept them from being released for garbage collection.

After a month or so of line by line code inspection the team discovered that the C# code they used had inherent memory leaks and the problem was not repairable

Actually, they did fix the problem... since it was an issue with their code and not C#. C# was doing what it was supposed to.

  8. Re:edited only... on Wal-Mart Ditches DRM, Keeps Censorship · · Score: 1

Yeah, I honestly don't understand Wal-Mart. They won't sell music with "explicit lyrics", but they'll sell rated R movies with the same "offensive" language, sexual references, etc.

  9. Re:edited only... on Wal-Mart Ditches DRM, Keeps Censorship · · Score: 1

That is the reason I never buy music from wal mart, as much as I may not like the words to some of the songs, the weird noises they replace them with are even worse. And worse yet, sometimes they edit out things that aren't offensive at all. By "they", I hope you don't mean Wal-Mart! They are not the one's editing the music, the label is sending it to them edited. Label's have a choice to not edit their music... it just won't be sold at Wal-Mart.

I wish they would recall my N75 battery, I have to charge it about every night, and it's brand new. Everyone else I know that has one has the same problem too. I wonder if I can get a third party battery for it? Anybody know?

So you get lots of kewl new features, but nobody's squashing bugs or polishing the GUI, or doing any of the other boring chores you need to polish the rough edges off a product. Really? Because the new GUI for Google Docs and Spreadsheets is great, and I think it is quite "polished".

This is the way my band is doing it. We're recording our new CD ourselves in our home studios, and the wonders of online distribution (MySpace, Purevolume, etc) allow us to sell the tracks. We're still going to print up some CD's to sell at shows though (for old times sake)
