Or how about they quit wasting our tax dollars "passing" these laws that are going to be ruled unconstitutional in the first place just so they can look good in their upcoming re-election bid? I got a suggestion, next time one of these yahoo legislative buffoons gets behind a bill that subsequently gets challenged in the courts and ruled unconstitutional, how about they pay the court costs and lawyer fees out of there own damn coffers.
Well that seems the way to go. I must admit a general low opinion on most executive types; one of my favorite examples of why I have a low opinion would be the dressing down a fellow IT staffer got from the CEO. The CEO was upset that when he dialed numbers from his phone's address-book while out of state he was getting wrong numbers and or invalid number recordings. After being told that he needed to dial the area code, the CEO erupted loud enough that I could hear it through the handset "Why do I need to know about area codes!?!?"
Anyway I am certain that whatever directed attacks spammers/virus writers/phishers make against these less than stellar inDUHviduals will succeed at alarming rates.
Isn't the Airforce the branch that has been tasked with Cyberspace security? Some kind of Cyber Command? Military Intelligence at its highest magnitude.
had a job where you need to drive somewhere you have no clue what the landmarks are etc. As a field tech, street view is a nice bonus. When I can use it I use it. If it reduces my blood pressure a couple points then maybe I get to live an extra year. And besides it is hardly real-time. I don't see protests of businesses that put webcams in their store fronts.
That sums up what used to be my experience on Shadow Moon. The amount of downtime, in just waiting to get connected ate up my nightly game time. Oh well, I have written off MMO's for a bit. I think it is good to take a break once in a while anyway.
Makes you wonder. How many of those the Chinese Government says are addicted to the internet, are really just normal people trying to grasp on to any bits of uncensored news.
It is inevitable. Fact is currently MS is the BMOC as far as OS on Desktops. They are the target that gets hit most often, and unfortunately a majority of users see AV as something that should just be there, like sewers and trash service.
How many times have you seen a friends system with Norton running on it with virus defs from 3 years ago. Those are the people that always scream the loudest when they get hit with a bug.
I may not support all that MS does, but this is one that needs to be. A basic AV included with the OS that helps stave off massive outbreaks. The people that this will really benefit are the same ones that never bought an AV package before. So really no money lost for any of those folks. The rest of us will continue with our preferred AV as always.
Now this may seem petty, but as a rule, when I interview at a location I make certain to check the bathrooms. There are several factors I look for:
Is it they clean? Is it fully stocked? Is there adequate space? What kind of toilet paper are they using?
My practise of doing this grew out of a habit that my Father and Grandfather taught me about going out to eat. "Never eat in a restaurant that has a bathroom that is dirty."
I have found through the years that this is solid advice and can be used to quantify what the workplace of a potential job might be like. It's a place we all need to visit from the CEO to the clerk, and if it is lacking in any way, it may be a sign that you might not be a good fit for that job.
Have to agree about the communication and team building. In our IT department there are 3 of us that share a rather spacious 4 cube setup. We are all back to back and able to share thoughts, make comments etc. all without having to resort to IM. I think like everything else, when properly implemented, the cube system can work.
I second the nerf wars comment as well. Though storming someones office can and is an exiting challenge.

Well as far as Un-Biased, good luck, everyone has an agenda. I do find myself going to factcheck.org quite a bit though.
