  1. Get your virus here! on Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Reviewed · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Go ahead and get the "upgraded" and sure to still be horribly insecure Internet Exploder! When a program was known as one of the most insecure products of all time and they didn't completely scrap it & start over, you can be sure its still got a whole grip of holes in it. So, again, keep using the standards non-compliant, virus/malware friendly M$ Internet Exploder, now with a bigger number on the end!

Microsoft CAN and DOES whatever the hell they want! Did you read the EULA when you installed? Most people don't. They could toss something in there about Ballmer fuckin' you in the ass if they wanted and the courts would hold it up. I left Windows long ago and I'm never going back as its only getting worse.

So, I'm wondering why M$ is working on about a million other projects when they should focus on their OS. 1) XP and previous is hugely vulnerable & unsecure. 2) Vista keeps being delayed & is probably similarly unsecure. Stop working on some damned robots & focus on your OS. You might get some respect if you focused to make a good product instead of branching out & making 100 shit products.

And if my father and sister value their free tech support, they won't be clicking it, either. That is a good idea. I have started charging for my support, but I will tell close family that if they want continued 'free' support they need to stop using IE. Sorry mom, but if you're using MSN Exploder to get your email, your free support went right out the window!

  5. undecided on GoDaddy Holds Domains Hostage · · Score: 1

On the one hand I use & respect the spamhaus.org RBL/XBL lists. I think they are the most organized and up-to-date spam listing site that I've been able to find & they have helped cut down on spam on our mail server by the truck load. If they say you're a spammer I would be reluctant to argue and I would suggest using their filter to anyone. On the other hand I think GoDaddy is one of the worst registrars out there. I've been fighting with them on a domain for over a year & they won't do shit about it. The registration contact information is in my name, the site content has my name all over it but because a previous marketing company (now out of business & unreachable) registered the domain I can't get a transfer w/o their acceptance. GoDaddy won't listen to anything and they can lick my balls. I basically have to wait until it expires and start from scratch. In the end my feelings on the article/news is: GoDaddy is extorting the customer. Don't use GoDaddy for anything.

M$. Innovation. I doubt that very much. They should open the API spec, but they wont. M$ does not push innovation. They don't like competition. They don't even want what's good for the customer (insert every M$ product every made). I think this whole post is crap. M$ hasn't & doesn't play well with others. If I was a developer and some M$ goons came to talk peace I'd shut & lock the door.

This is causing me to lose even more respect for Sony (rootkit anyone). I was a loyal PS2 user but if its not one things its another and Sony is really going downhill in my book. Continued delays. Backing losing mediums (I'd rather go with HD-DVD). etc, etc. If I can no longer support Sony and god forbid I buy an Xbox where can I console-game? I guess I should just dig out the old-school Nintendo. I can't use Xbox or Sony anymore on principle.

On my recent FC4 install I had the following issues: correct resolution wasn't detected & I wasn't able to manually adjust. The screen turned into a split-screen mirror when updating the resolution my touchpad was very jerky (synaptics touchpad on notebok) maybe this is just me not being used to the updater but the up2date wouldn't work--kept getting critical error--but if I did 'yum update' from the terminal it worked fine. ...that just seemed odd. I remember having similar problems on my RH9 install a few years back as well. Specifically with my printer (could not do color) and scanner.
