Dont forget services such as VoIP that probably directly eats into your ISP's profits. IMs are replacing texts (which can make phone companies around $10000 per MB).
In the future more entertainment will be streamed & downloaded. We'll possibly end up with a pay-per-view system of some kind but your ISP will want you to pay them for it too. They've been trying to extort money with BBC Iplayer.
Hopefully in the future it might also stop evil companies like Phorm & BT from stripping charity adverts from pages and replacing them with their own.
Its The War On Drugs or The War Against Terror again..
Thats so next budget they can say "Look we had a great year, we shut down X thousand websites but piracy is still on the increase so we need tougher laws and more taxpayer money spent".
The state doing it is more likely to cost more. Also, they're more likely to have delays, cost overruns and just drop the whole idea when they cant get it to work after 5 years and £200million wasted.
With RFID & NFC electronics in so many devices & ID cards, how long until governments or even advertisers start putting scanners in public buildings, banks, schools, malls or even street corners. You dont need to be able to decode the info to create a unique fingerprint to identify people's movements.
Walmart could figure out how long each person spends down which aisle. Next time theres a crime you can see who was in the area at the time (useful for identiffying suspects or witnesses).
I agree but agreeing to "Company G storing your data in various locations around the world" isn't giving up your privacy and I'm sure G's lawyers & lobbyists will quite gladly spend time & money making a few judges agree.
No, because its about making a point. If Google starts to delist thing just because they disagree with something then where will it end. Should they delist Apple because they're a competitor who condones slave labour in China? Should they delist religions because they are evil, offensive and promote hatred?
I'd love to see Google de-list ALL SOPA/PIPA supporting organisations, even if its just for a day. Amazon could stop selling products from the same people.
Its more likely that Google understands that when the public objects to something they twit their friends. When corporations object they lobby and get laws passed. Which would you care more about?
It would be easier to pay a few politicians to pass a law requiring it because drugs dealers/terrorists/pedos/whoever use them for some bad thing or other.
I know its more power than you need but for $25/$35 I dont mind.
I was thinking of an ethernet/bluetooth device that can be controlled by an android phone. Being able to switch lights/heating/security on and off from a portable device would be very useful to me due to my disability.
It might even be powerful enough to attach a webcam for some simple CCTV/motion detection.
The point is they're supposed to be disposable/breakable. Adding that much ram would increase costs and dimensions i'd bet. You'd probably be better off buying a cheap android tablet.
Either way I these devices will be great for home automation. Low power enough to sit behind a light switch but powerful enough to handle monitoring lights, temperatures and a lot more.

I guess the Kinnect could be used to see if you are watching the advert.
Yeah, its like adding the words "on the internet" to something people have done for decades makes something a new invention.

I didnt see it so i'm asking... was it a walled garden with adverts?

Time Lord?
A) There is no way anyone has information on this system that would be negative toward it's image.
Yes because underhanded dirty tricks to increase greed for corporations never get leaked. (ACTA)
B) People won't even bother to buy the new console and stick with the 360
Until they start to upgrade their stuff to only support the new console and stop support for the 360. (DX10,XP)
C) What if you change systems, buy a second new system, or these systems fail as often as the 360 (hope not)
Thomas in Bangalore will help you move your account. This is a 360? I'm sorry the new online system isnt supported by the 360.
It wont be long until we get that.

HTPC in your pocket

Thats what EULAs are for.
You forgot patent trolls.

Its payout lottery. Buy a patent and you might win big. Why not buy tens of thousands of them like some companies do.

But also 25,900 ± 1,400 years ago.

I use KeePass with the Firefox plugin.

I propose changing it's name again, this time to the
Worldwide Enforcing and Restrictively Protecting American Rights Against Sites Intent on Theft, Exploitation and Solicitation Act
WE-R-PARASITES Act
Veto it? With a media-cartel funded puppet as the V.P?
