I've never had any problems with security updates on pirated Windows boxes if update policy is set to Custom(Only notify about updates). So you should just pick the desired ones. I only noticed activation removal when updating office xp because of some updates. But I've just probably got a bad hack.
> Well done Russia. I live in Russia. I don't beleive it'll ever come true due to our government, bureaucracy and people stupidity. BTW Russia voted YES on OOXML. Some enthusiasts were recently trying to get protocols or analysis reports on which this decision was based but they had no luck because it seems that decision was based on msft money not analysis.
I had troubles with logging in to sf several times since I always had to change my easy password for unimportant sites which usually contains special chars. Thanks to recovery system:)
i must be new here, but i've never found links to/. comments before this day probably i haven't search hard i'm speaking about "PassTheHash toolkit" keyphrase btw
I quit gaim several weeks ago when after gimp (& gtk) update it wasn't able to connect to any server (jabber or icq). Since gimp is not the only gtk-based program on my PC, i swithced to sim.
Many users asked for a bundled packet of extensions distributed with Firefox or even simple inclusion of nice features in the browser. In days of 1.0.x I had about 4-6 extensions installed. After 1.5.x was released I reduced their number to 2 because I don't need others any more. Now I often don't install extensions at all because Firefox is already sufficient for my browsing.
I don't need forecasts or bookmarks manager. I just want a convenient browser.
I often get into flap when I found no FF at the PC when browser is needed. Even if I only need to view a simple local html file. And no internet connection available.
I could get similar results only in 1.0.x versions browsing all day long: opening, closing, rearranging and restoring several tens times an hour. In fact I haven't seen FF using more than 100M RAM for a long time.
Working at hosting provider's support in Russia I often had to inform clients by sending e-mail's to often not valid addresses about abuse reports. Basically I get no resonse until their site has been blocked. But sometimes we even couldn't do that if abuse was for domain resolving to our customer's server. Blocking ip's at registrar's layer for me is more preferable, but procedure of unlocking a domain is a bit frightening although. Mainly because of the response time. And blocking so many domain names is unacceptable at all.
anyone?
Active MUDs still exist. WoW is replacement for MUDs not for MUSHes.
Right until they begin to share it. And there comes "the horror"
Wait a minute. Isn't this the code that documents itself?

So when Linux asks for a root password to do administrative tasks, that's good security, but if Vista does something similar, its nazi tyranny?
I've installed Ubuntu at my work pc when 7.04 came out. I'm not sure what my admin password is since I haven't used it since april.since many people said they won't upgrade to Vista till SP2.
I hate this forcing everyone to Vista. It's almost impossible to find a new notebook with preinstalled XP now in Moscow.

Maybe that's because of pictures switched off/on?
It takes a lot of time to build it from scratch.
I've just checked.
RC1 of new TabMixPlus version (with FF 2.0 support) is already available.
Good news for me.
I hope state-owned radio/TV stations are free from advertising?
> Have spamhaus pick a day and time to report empty lists from 9am to 11:59am on a Monday. Then lets see what Congress and the FTC says.
That probably won't effect them if their IT staff don't rely on spamhaus.
