That's called "responsibility." When you're in charge of the country, yes, you have to answer for everything that goes on.
I know there has been a lot of criticism saying current Executive branch uses too much power in the government, but since when has the American president been "In charge of the country?"
Call me naive, ignorant, w/e, but I choose to believe the people are still in charge of this country, and certainlythe ESRB
"He [The Antichrist] causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on [in] their right hand or on [in] their foreheads, that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666" (Revelation 13:16-18, NKJV)
Thought I'd post the rest of this verse so that people who might not be familiar with it can see WHY exactly "religious-types" dislike anything that can be seen as the mark of the beast, especially anything that is mandatory.
You are on to something there. I guess I can only "prove" to myself that I exist. I mean, to me it seems quite obvious that I exist. However, I can't prove that you exist, and I certainly can't prove to you that I exist. And, for all I know, it is 1000% more obvious to me that I exist than it is apparent to you that you exist, if you exist that is.
In short, it's a load of crap. Giving God credit for evolution is about as effective as giving fish credit for plate tectonics. In fact... it requires no intelligence at all to create something fantastic. Caltech has a program called Avida which shows exactly this, evolution is extremely effective when simulated by a computer. A number of programs have been written to use evolution to do the designing.
Hmmm... I'm curious. Is this Caltech program the result of a big bang in the transistor clouds?
When people (like Caltech) want an elegant, simple, highly functional piece of software, they get a Software Engineer (like me!:-) to do some intelligent design.
Then again, I could probably point to quite a few examples to disprove ID in the software industry.;-P
If this joke had been about Micro$oft or Dell or the like, It would probably be a (5:funny) right now.
It IS a good joke. Don't take offense so easily my Apple loving friends.

I also had to snicker when I read that comment about PC not being played online. I mean, have you heard of MMORPGs??? World of Warcraft, Guildwars, Final Fantasy XI, Lineage, etc, etc. </rant>
I have an Xbox, and used to love playing Halo on the LAN in my college dorm. Very few people I knew actually used Xbox Live.
As a side note, is the Xbox Live for Xbox360 going to have a free "lite" edition? My brother won one from the Pepsi Promo, and gets it Saturday via UPS.
I'm a little uninformed in this area of science. What exactly does this discovery mean? Does it mean that they now know exactly where the strain of DNA is that makes me white, or have dark hair, or have a weakness toward a certain type of cancer?
How is this going to help? Are they going to be able to reach inside me and change my DNA to fix my problems (gene therapy, this is called? Clueless there too i guess)?
I think that in order for the masses to switch over to a Linux distro, they need to be able to use their apps on Linux. For instance, I use heavily Visual Studio.NET, and lots of Games ( HL2, Counter-Stike:Source, DoD:Source, Doom3, Star Wars Games, etc... etc.. ), and other programs that I just can't use in my SuSE distro (got a dual-boot machine).
I know there are always alternative open source proggies for some applications (OpenOffice, for example), but this is not always the case, and some things (such as video games) are very difficult to duplicate, especially when they have a great gaming community.
I really wouldn't mind switching to SuSE full-time otherwise.:-)

So, is this language as stable as Paris currently is?
Always remember this: In this world there is only one thing I can prove, and that is that I exist.

Are we going to start engineering perfect babies, ala Gattaca? (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119177/)
