I'd think it would be possible to create a series of desks that fold up like an accordion and easily slide into a closet like room. When it's LAN party time you grab some handles and pull it out (one end attached to a wall to provide network/power) to have a series of LAN Party pods. If you design it right, it could pull out in an arc to provide a set of desks in a half circle pod.
For the last couple of years, the revenue from console video game sales has stagnated at around $23 billion per year. PC game sales, on the other hand, have grown from $13 billion to $18 billion over the past two years.
I'm not sure why you'd cheer that. We'd have years of single company dominance and with Microsoft in control again. I would guarantee a hike in Live costs, licensing, and you can forget having "Steam like" sales.
360 had software backwards compatibility... on a few select games. The PS3 was (originally) the only one that offered hardware compatibility for a majority of the back catalog.
Personally, I think backwards compatibility is overrated and I have an original 20G that's still running fine. I think I put in one game just to see it work.
You try to claim that it's just Americans, ignorantly.
Only American society forces everyone to compete for power, and ostracizes people for merely not abusing others.
Completely false. I feel absolutely no pressure to compete for power. I go to work, get paid to provide my services and go home. There is no social pressure for me. I think you have a very disturbed view of American life.
However the fact that you, an American, believe that he is an absolute monarch of your country, you envy him for this, and you deride people who do not aspire for such position, shows how disgusting your society's dominant ideology is.
Well then, we've established that you clearly have no idea what I'm thinking and like to throw out wild accusations as if I believe our President is some kind of King. Where did I deride anyone for not running for Presidency? Clearly you need to get more experience in the real world instead of relying on whatever news station you watch or articles you read.
But that's not the point. Species of animals (and humans) exhibit traits of dominance and submission. It's a part of every living thing. You try to claim that it's just Americans, ignorantly. You may not see it, but people have enacted laws in all countries to enforce their dominance on you. You accepted it and are falling in line. "They must be wiser and better than me." I hear it all the time. People elect representatives on how much political experience they have. They accept dominance. Becoming President is important to a great many people. Those that can't become President fall in line and ride the tails of those that do.
In other species it's extremely important for survival that most of the herd is not caught up in an endless fight for positions at the top of hierarchy.
You know that's because the weaker one probably decides it's better to live/not get hurt than face off against the "bull" again? They fall in line and accept that the stronger rival is better equipped to lead. (In human and wild creature...)
Sadly, they will still sell screens that are 1080p. I wished LCD manufacturers would get off their asses and make more affordable screens over 1080p. 1920x1200 is the best I've seen that's not ridiculously expensive and I bought one of those a few years ago.
I'm pretty sure contact lenses would not be something your eye can focus on. I'd be happy if it were wrong, but I think it's too close to be able to see anything but a blurry mess.
I saw Windows in the story title, and fully expected to come here and see a lengthy first post about how great Microsoft is by a high ID non subscriber account at exactly the same time as the story was made public.
That interface suffers from the same problem I have with Gnome3... try opening multiple copies of notepad. In Gnome3 I have to hold shift to get more than one instance. In this interface (Ensoid) I can't seem to find the command to do that at all. Maybe it can be added, but the demo doesn't seem to have it. Also, having the icons in the background make you think that you can type the computer name to get to that icon... not so.
On-The-Go web searches are awesome. Especially when you are in Best Buy and you want to see if you can get that item cheaper from Amazon or you want to find the closest Italian restaurant.
Navigation is a huge bonus. You don't need a dedicated navigation unit or have to pay the extra $2000 for the "option" in most cars as well.
Weather information at your fingertips...
I use mine as a streaming audio player/mp3 player while docked on my desk at work. (granted, I am grandfathered into Verizon's unlimited data)
Even though I intended to use mine for gaming as well, I only have two games installed and I haven't opened either in weeks.
I'm not sure how true it is, but I was told that Hong Kong is fairly independent even though it's part of China. It's considered by some to be a separate entity under different laws/rules.
Except that the live ID verifies with a Microsoft Live server you mean? What I was asking is if I could setup single sign-on to validate my ID with a third party like Google/Amazon/Steam.
Does it use Microsoft servers to validate my ID or can I have it use Steam servers to validate. Can I have it use my own server? That was the question... not if I can use my email as my ID.

I'd rather have 25GB of MPEG-2 slightly compressed video over 9GB of MPEG-2 greater compression video. ;)

I'd say that's booming.

So terribly slow. I mean, look, this Blu-Ray drive is only 4x where this DVD is 12x!
Blu-ray 4x: 144MBps / 18MBps
12x DVD: 66 - 132Mbps / 8.2 - 16.5MBps
I mean, who would want the drive that's not running like a turbo jet to stream data to the device.

In order to prevent people from scrolling past the rest of this thread, I will placed this accept button here to convince them to stop:

Different species all exhibit traits matching what was said. Evolution has little to do with it. Survival does.
I never said anything about evolution. Evolution takes more than one generation.
- and many other species as well.

I'm glad I wasn't disappointed.

Do you also complain about PC fragmentation?

It still sounds like broad speculation (ie: flame bait) to me... unless, of course, you can provide a link to a study.
And I'm sure someone would still have a problem with it... equating the magazine to turning women into faceless/nameless sex objects.
Except that the live ID verifies with a Microsoft Live server you mean? What I was asking is if I could setup single sign-on to validate my ID with a third party like Google/Amazon/Steam.
If it takes you a month's pay to buy a gadget... it's probably money best spent elsewhere.

I don't want a Windows Live account.
