From what I read of this Jaguar though, it uses the turbines to power generators when it needs a charge and it's driven by electric motors on each wheel.
As much as I want to disagree with you, I went from my RX8 to a Miata because it's a damn fun car... but you should hear some of the stuff people yell out their windows to someone they don't even know.
And I dislike most packaged MSIs... which may be what you are referring to, but I only use them in passing as I promised myself to never use it to distribute anything... ever.
1. Symantec Endpoint Protection (only one so far that I've run into this with, but I have seen others mentioned looking for the solution) - Start the install, hit cancel... it comes back, over and over. Killing the task? Nope, Windows update kicks it off again. You have to download a special tool from MS to clear the install settings that keep firing it off.
2. Delete the $<installfolder> from the WINNT Folder because, well... it's my folder and if I want space on my system partition I'm going to delete it. Good luck uninstalling the app that somehow needs these folders to delete itself. (Same with WINNT\Installer) Where's that special tool to clean up after MSI installs again... man I need to keep that thing handy!
3. Why do I need a service running to install programs? Seriously. Just copy some files to the folder I, the user, specify and keep out of the folders I do not... make shortcuts (again, in the folder I specify.) Done.
MSI files make me cringe every time I see one because you never know what they are going to do to your system.
I knew about the RVR aspect, but... like a moron, I was also sold on the sales pitches that there would be PVE content. Who's to say you can't have a PVP/RVR game that allows people to play totally PVE to support those people who wanted to go deal with that whole PVP mess? Even during Beta, they had special areas for that type of gameplay and I never had to go into it if I didn't want. I guess I expect too much. I also subbed because friends were subbing as well so I guess you can say I let myself be tricked.
Actually, a large part of our government was designed to be slow and laborious... passing laws was not something to be done easily (until someone wised up and made Senators a majority vote opposed to a State elected official... but this is only one example)
It's only getting worse. The populous "demands" immediate action from the government, so they get lenient to new laws and let the officials push the line. How many officials are elected on the whole "change" idea. (And no, this was not limited to Obama.) Change in government is bad and should be very carefully thought out. This shouldn't be anything you cram through the process as fast as possible.
If you give that application root access... It's not like rooting your phone automatically gives all apps instant and unfettered access to your system folder. Just like Linux/Windows7 (kind of) it will ask the user if this app should have that access.
The "custom" versions you are talking about are extra features on top of the regular SDK and have little to no bearing on application development. Most adaptations are skins and icons.
I'd go out on a limb and say there's no special features added to your phone that would also be documented in the SDK. If you are going outside the SDK docs to get features, that's your own damn fault.
Then 1.5 doesn't count since it's share is less than that of Vista (sitting at 13%) compared on the Windows platform. I'm not sure where they are getting 100+ versions though. Wikipedia has them sorted by usage:
I count four of which two are major holders. 1.5 and 1.6 are minimal. I would consider 1.6 an after thought at best from this point forward. Considering it holds just a few percentage points more than Vista's percentages... maybe you'd consider that one a non-event as well. That narrows things down to two.
If you want to include different handsets you can compare that in with the PC market. Different GPUs, different keyboard layouts, different monitor resolutions... there's no difference.
I left because: * I was forced into PVP and I hate PVP with a passion (at a certain point I ran out of missions I could complete with my regular group because they ramped up difficulty, missions did not reward, and killing mobs was worth jack squat exp), * and the story lines were too linear (finish this town and go to the next)
Granted, all MMOs now are too linear for my tastes so I quit playing them. I'm not going to pay a monthly fee for a single player linear story that allows me to teleport to any point in the world (negating the world part of the game.)
While I'd like to agree that PC gaming isn't "going away" I think it is hitting a "lull" because more and more people buy laptops and without further investment they don't make for awesome game machines like the PC does. (They are getting better, but still...)
According to the article which I::gasp:: read,....
Dude, you got out of breath typing?!
Maybe he was using one of them IBM Model M Keyboards... someone used to the soft keys of today's keyboards would wear themselves out and out of breath from the strain.;)
How many teachers would let you take that netbook into a test?
Calculators were always allowed in my classes (this was years ago: about the time of the TI-85 and it amazed me that I could bring such a thing with me...) I'm assuming calculators are still allowable.
You can always put it in an anchor tag
Why? It's not like a piston engine that can wear more on startup than on normal operation. It's literally just spinning up the turbine.
From what I read of this Jaguar though, it uses the turbines to power generators when it needs a charge and it's driven by electric motors on each wheel.
So there's no latency of motion.
There was a recent post on a jet powered concept car... I wouldn't call the idea dead yet.

You'll have to forgive me if this no longer works (can't check right now,) but it was:

What about "they/their?"
When someone uses Bing's search engine to look for a new car or a book, they can see which ones their friends liked.

Why is the parent modded informative? Oh because we hate Microsoft here....
Why post the question you already know the answer too? Damnit, I just did it too!

Anyway, OP asked why we quit. I gave my points.

They were pretty upfront that RVR was a part of the game, but nowhere that I read said it would be required.

But is there really a problem here?
Besides TI charging exorbitant rates on calculators that are "approved" for use in school? (Some teachers ask you to bring calculators now.)
Not that it matters, but there are at least a couple scientific calculators on the Android market.
How many teachers would let you take that netbook into a test?

Every experiment/example I've seen to explain Einstein's Space-Time theory has involved a large sheet of fabric with giant balls being pushed around.
Tiny grains of sand and dust would make for bad television.
But according to the same law, you can say it looked like he had a gun and you did not want to risk getting shot to protect your vehicle.
Every month I hit the range. Granted, I'm not a "typical citizen."
