How the hell did Copyright become so entangled, and so disproportionately important that the equally as corrupt American government take such a public stand on it?
Did anyone stop to think that perhaps women just aren't interested in Computers courses at college?
Certainly not a bad thing getting more Women in to Computing though. Right now, there's one female member of the development team where I work as a programmer (and I didn't do a CS course FYI).
Personally, I will be purchasing the Neo-1973 mobile device that is currently in development. It will be built on the new OpenMoko open-source platform and is scheduled to hit the market in September this year.
Each time I read about China and their antics in the media, I increasingly dislike the country. I know we're not entirely free here in the western world, but at least we can make our own mistakes.
Nanny states are bullshit, just come visit the UK in the not to distant future and you'll see what I mean (in fact, regardless of the nature of the previous link, we're already a nanny state).
...dunno what gamers they're talking to, but everyone I spoke to about Far Cry always mentioned either AI directly or the "mobs being really clever" (i.e. indirect positive AI appraisal). Pretty sure this has happened for others too.
I've resigned from my employer, Blue State Digital, an internet company that provides technology to several presidential campaigns, including Richardson's, Vilsack's, and -- full disclosure -- Obama's. The company had no idea that I'd created the ad, and neither did any of our clients. But I've decided to resign anyway so as not to harm them, even by implication.
Come on, it's not as though his Blog post was an essay, there's 8 paragraphs, OH NOES MY EYES!!!
I don't get it. Where's the news? Don't companies have the right to discipline their employees? If they don't like the fact that their employee had views - not any old views, but a deep political ideology that might threaten business (i.e. conflict of interests) - then they have a right to discipline and indeed fire those people. What if we looked at this the other way - the company complaining about him and ultimately firing him because they believed due to his views, he was not a safe employee and possibly had intentions of ruining business due to his views and actions.
Blogging's popularity took the rollercoaster when the Semantic Web got rolling - you're not seriously arguing that Web 2.0 does not have a part in the huge use and success of blogging, are you?
I can imagine the insurance companies going ape-sh*t.
"How was your car damaged sir?"
"The robot parking it managed to reverse into a bollard"
"Sorry, you're not covered"
Seriously, I can't be far off. Are there insurance cover implications here?
...It was so nice, for once, to actually read a benchmark article that didn't have an abundance of tech-related paragraphs that are way to deep and technical. This article had the meat and information I wanted, in nice and easy to understand graphs (I like pictures!!!) and it was quick to read. Thanks,/.
Can anyone explain the PS3 support? Had any experience with it?

Why has it come to this? This is so sad.
Thank you.
Are these DX-10 only or do they still support OpenGL?...I ask because i'm about to build a new PC and I want NVidia not ATI under GNU/Linux.

Are these the same scientists that tell me milk can give me Cancer and that Eggs are bad for me one week, yet good for me another?
(Rhetorical question, FYI)
Who cares?

I'm going to print that and frame it, with your permission?
OH MY GOD, it's past 1200 ALREADY!!!

Basically, this isn't news.
hah!
:)
:D
I made a funny little joke and you started pointlessly questioning me, so I felt compelled to humour you
Have a nice day!

Sure, but everyone knows that blogging has stemmed from the Semantic Web. Just one of the various 'what you do' things that people now do on the web.
...says the guy who's blogging this opinion...
Well done Mr, you've just said what the rest of the IT industry has been saying for years!

...Slavery built the British empire, and the tea trade!
Judging by his picture on the article, I think he's got bigger things to worry about...(like changing photographers!)
Why wasn't Google's personalised home page included, or the MSN Live pages? Seems to me it's a bit of a redundant comparison.

Please see my reply to the first reply to my original post (bleh that came out wrong) - here
My post was referring to *new* hardware, and I have clarified that in the linked comment.
