    Yes it is. Every time I visit /. my webserver gets a evil datagram of a ping back from /. If i remember right the log entry looks like /. investigates if my webserver is open to relay traffic like a miss-configured proxy. What it does if this test is passed: no idea. Maybe /. has a secret inner circle of alien worms utilizing found proxies for internal communication like distribution of blueprints: of their newest state of the art *n*l-probes designed to analyze brains of slashdot readers. Or maybe its sumthing else, gotta check my logs again.

    Maybe the phones generic IM utilizing a built-in GPS via some good standard api. And crypto too. No Big Brother needs to know anything, neither Microsoft gets free statistics on peoples locations. ((Posted with Lynx))

    Making your own Macro-tubing - how can that be news? Kinda old trick, very old. Make it a homebuilt IR->light converter or something else a little more advanced. That would be interesting!

    Good to know I can't attach important zip/rar archives in GMail. Maybe it filters .arj, .gz and .bz2 too?? Sounds like Gmail kinda sucks and is pretty useless. Guess i wont look into using it. Thanks, very informative! /Patrik Arvhult

    You have to be white? (Well I dunno how it's here in Sweden, but i find it lil strange. Hmmm, two "white" parents and a "dark" child, kk maybe theres a point there. On the other hand a "colored" pair getting a "white" child from donation... Maybe the donations should be labeled.)

    Yeah - been thinking about that. Maybe im using lil to advanced desktop systems for my old puters, makeing my Linux ones appear slower than necessary. /Patrik

    Nah - sometimes some peeps - at least I, love Microsofts products. When tired of KDE being fing slow: I fire up my old 486 equipped with W98, only 32 megs, only @100MHz.. and it feels blazing fast. kk - it crashes fast too, but sometimes in really fantastic and interesting ways! /Patrik

    Maybe because that particular BIOS (among others) is not stored on a disk.
