By splitting the company they are able to bargain contracts differently for content and put a lot more emphasis on the two different businesses that were Netflix. The DVD service is just that, an online movie rental(now games too). The streaming service will now have the focus and ability to grow in more directions that would be a little to drastic for a former DVD service. I am gambling that they will end up with lot more content as a result of this split
I'm afraid i have met multiple people who have been in the business for 15+ years who got by using job hopping and friend hires. no offense, but your pool of peers really are bringing you down
One other thing to note here is that this is not just a comparison of OS look at MS office vs openOffice, you will still get the viruses inherent with the OS but you are using open source.
ur organization has used multiple open source apps to our success saving the company hundred of thousands, but we have also chosen some open source "free" products that we put so many cycles into that we paid literally 10 times the cost of the closed source product
True story and it wasn't a gag
Client wants to know why he can't read his floppy disk.
"Can you open My Computer"
"I told you I'm not bringing my computer in"
"sir it's an Icon in the Start menu"
Hearing Him tap on his CRT
"Sir use your mouse to click on it"
"Mice? I aint got no mice I got 4 cats"... much time goes by as we work into My Computer
"Ok, it doesn't seem to see the disk, can you pull it out?"
I hear the mechanical noise of a CD drive.
"sir does the slot you just took your floppy out of open when you push a button?"
"Yes, it's one of those disc/floppy slots"
So for those of you wondering you can in fact put a floppy in a cd drive just right and it will close
My next applicant after you is 23 years old. What do you know that he doesn't?
I know what "Failure" means. Another thing I know that the 23 year old has no concept of is, "What takes to have a medium to complex project completed."
that's funny, In the Order of the Arrow as part of the Boy Scouts of America I got a great deal of experience organizing and setting up full events for several hundreds to thousands of people- FOR 3 DAYS. After 3 years of this I did have had outright failure as well as great success.
Then I turned 21.
Look at the younger guys who may not have gone to college, but show progression through jobs. When you find one who did not graduate college but went up the ladder on their own you get someone who may need a little more initial guidance but they learn quicker, teach others, does the work of several average IT people, and they are also more flexible in their ways.
Put too many older IT people in the same room and you have fireworks
This happened to me 2 years ago and in the end I couldn't crack any of his passwords in a reasonable amount of time so I went around and contacted each site i needed access to. He put his going away note on myspace and i found the only way to get any account access (not passwords) was court order. I went for 2 of his emails before using them to recover all the other info
Read and watch the onion, it is a well recognized paper here in colorado for a good reason! All of the stories are false to bring out opinion and actual thought from the readers. Through their humor they actually wind up being more credible on what's really going on than many papers

the only difference between genius and stupidity is genius has limits
if we hit a computational limit how will windows ever survive new releases
