Cell phone coverage is far easier to set up in the third world than it is to set up land lines.
There might be local blight laws or some such that may restrict the building of cell phone towers in your California town of 100k. No such restrictions in the third world.
Launch a few solid state lasers to help clean up the orbit.
With the laser scorching one side of the junk the junk would end up being pushed away from the laser and hopefully into the atmosphere.
If we have five or six in orbit we should be able to clean up the current debris in a few years. If we have a few dozen then we might also be able to use them to deflect asteroids.
Radio Shack buys some of the worst product lines out there.
Went there for a phone recharger since I figure that they are now primarily a cell phone re-seller. They couldn't just sell me a phone car charger, they had instead a phone car charger system. You buy the base charger for about the cost of a regular recharger, then on top of that you then buy the specific adapter for the phone that again costs nearly the same amount as a cheapo car charger on its own.
The management of Radio Shack is on Crack.
The only thing I buy from Radio Shack now is odd ball batteries.
You might update, but "people" are stupid and do not. "People" tend to minimize or close anything that pops up in between start up and opening the app that one started the computer to use. Whether it be windows update, virus scan update, or updates of nagging software. Of those three the updates of nagging software will be the most likely to just be closed without any update taking place.
The performance is increasing per dollar, but the manufacturing of the video cards is an almost set price.
Much like with hard drives, yes there are 2 terabyte hard drives for around $200, but that does not mean that you can find a (recently manufactured) 200 gig hard drive for $20. The cost of all the sub-systems sets the base price.
Integrated graphics aren't bad by design, just implementation.
This or better could be integrated, but instead what ends up as integrated graphics is the most bottom barrel POS that is barely capable of displaying a desktop wallpaper.
If they can stick it in a laptop, they can put it on a motherboard.
I would think that the information you give them is even better than what they would get from someone else who does not select what they read.
After all, they know exactly what parts interests you. It's not like your off selecting stuff your not reading.
Gmail, the aspect of Google that was being hacked is not available in China.
Do a little research.

If the DVD's were going to get tossed, then using them to obtain disaster support sounds like a good use of the resources.
I thought we already produce "fertilizer" ?
Would that mean that we would no longer have to go to the bathroom, or would it only just give a different meaning to the term "Morning Wood" ?

I'm not sure how old my motherboard is but seamlessly switching between GPU's isn't even that new.

How about a Red Button of Death.
If you hit the red button on this video card while its on it will corrupt the video cards bios. Luckily its got two.

To summarize. Perfection is the enemy of the good.

But hey, at least in the future they'll produce some bad ass psychotic robots.
I know people who purchased computers and internet access just so they could download mp3's off Napster.
Napster probably sold more broadband than the Road-Runner.
Or if not HP, then at least Compaq.
Are there bluetooth keyboards that work with phones?
Wait.......are you trying to tell me the /. editors are not brainless ai's?
Where do I subscribe to your newsletter?
Don't feel bad when you wake up and not find her next to you. She was gone before Corbin Dallas woke up also.

I would imagine that the software necessary to take video feeds from the drone and then comparing them to satellite images would be rather simple.
Knowing where we are searching is valuable intelligence.
There was quite abit of concern that Microsoft put in a backdoor for the NSA on Windows 95 though Windows 2000.

It was never confirmed that a backdoor was installed.
Considering loiter time a blimp makes a lot more sense than a 747 or C-130.
I'm sure the blimp in development will do a whole lot more than surveillance.
