I think it has something to do with some Congressional sub-committee's investigation into such controversial practices as pretexting, which was allegedly used in by private investigators hired by HP to find the leakers. I saw some hearing on one of the CSPAN channels a couple of months ago about that kind of thing. Sorry that I can't post any links or anything, but I'm too tired to go searching for it. Would anybody be so obliging?
Would Apple have continued investigating? How would they have investigated? According to the ThinkSecret article this is based on http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0608retailleak.htm l? there may be dozens more people getting fired fairly soon.
Good on Apple. The product isn't done yet, so it doesn't deserve to be seen.
From the article:
"The next-generation operating system, which is scheduled to ship early next year, were previewed by Apple executives at the Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco during the week of Aug. 7-11. "
So it seems the terminated employees were fired for downloading an advance copy. Whoever uploaded it in the first place is probably looking at some sort of repercussions as well. If they can be found.
Viruses are not alive, but they do have genes. When a virus infects a cell and replicates itself hundreds of times over, some of the 'copies' may have slight changes or mutations in their DNA. After many, many small mutations, a virus that caused a cold might now cause a victim to hemorrhage blood (which is a symptom of the Ebola virus.) This system of change is what may be described as evolution.
It might be a fixed gear, so all he would have to do to slow the blades is pedal slower or stop pedaling all together to stop the blades.

Precisely. The only thing goldfish can say is Bob.
Dali's Moustache in photographs. Though I was hoping for one particular one where his face is a clock and his 'stache is the hands.
He probably wanted to save the site from crashing so people not from /. could make their donations.
