  1. Before the MSFT bashing commences on Windows Vista still Rife with Insecure Code · · Score: 0, Troll

Lets all remember that this is still Beta code. It's not suppossed to be perfect. If it was perfect it would be released now.

  2. 1,000,000 users 2 days ago on Wikipedia Reaches 1,000,000 Articles · · Score: 1

And the lucky user.... Romulus32. How anticlimactic.

  3. Umm... Touch Screen Video Ipod? on Apple Announces Wonderful Toys · · Score: 1

What happened to the Touch Screen Video IPod they were suppossed to announce? 2 mac mini's with a 6 button remote and yet another dock for the IPod was worth a huge presser why? Oh I forgot never mind they are releasing leather cases for the Ipod to, for 99 dollars! Finally I have to get rid of my 50 dollar leather IPOD case and get the new 99 dollar official one! Thank you apple!

  4. Yet people complain about vista versions on Microsoft Faces Fresh Antitrust Complaints · · Score: 2, Insightful

It's amazing how people critisize MSFT about having so many vista versions. Stuff like this makes it super obvious why they have to release so many versions.

  5. They chose the lesser of 2 evils. on Google's Action Makes A Mockery Of Its Values · · Score: 1

They had no choice in this matter. If they didn't do it, nobody in China would beable to access Google. It's not like by doing this they are taking something away from the Chinese people. They are giving Chinese people access to a search engine controlled and censored by a US company instead of the Chinese goverment. In my opinion that's a good thing. Here's the facts. The Chinese goverment will not allow their citizens access to free information. If you try to supply it, people who are caught searching for it are caught accessing the information and they can be prosecuted. If you want to get mad at someone get mad at China, getting mad at google is just silly.

  6. It's too simple a key on WMF Vulnerability is an Intentional Backdoor? · · Score: 1

If they wanted to really make a back door they could have used anything. Since we don't have the source we can't really tell, but I wouldn't be surprized if it's as simple as something checking the 1 as a "true".

  7. And this is different from Media Center How? on LocationFree Television In Tokyo · · Score: 0, Offtopic

It's basically msft media center being used on a wireless network? I could have sworn this is already being done by http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/ont hego/default.mspx microsoft with the media center extenders (including the xbox 360) only you don't have to pay 300 bucks for a glorified external tv tuner card. *yawn*

  8. And.... people won't care on Consumer Friendly Downloads? · · Score: 5, Interesting

People really don't care about their products being "certified". Go out to the store and buy any usb wifi adapter you can find. In the installation guy it tells you to make sure that you hit "continue anyway" when your computer warns you the drivers aren't certified. I don't think not wanting to hit continue anyway is a valid reason for returning your new adapter.

  9. Question: on Ask John Smedley About Star Wars Galaxies · · Score: 1

How important do you feel actual communication between the developers and publishers of a game with the players of the game is? Actual communication meaning not having everything filtered through a PR team like the World of Warcraft team is notorious for.

And as a follow up, do you feel that developers being sat above the playerbase in an "ivory tower" not being allowed to interact with the playerbase except through "community managers" and pr departments is a good or bad thing for the longevity of a game.

  10. The numbers are misleading. on Firefox Achieves 10% Global Market Share · · Score: 1

Just like in the case of the PSP "taking marketshare" from nintendo's handhelds. The numbers are very misleading. Just because someone is caught using firefox does not mean they don't have internet explorer also. I have both, and i'm posting this using IE *gasp*. The fact that I have both IE and firefox means i'm in that sample set twice, once because I have firefox and once because I have IE. That does not mean firefox is taking marketshare away from internet explorer. It just means that more people are using firefox.

  11. Open source is open source on No Respect for Windows Open Source · · Score: 1

If the code is viewable to anyone and usuable by anyone then that means anyone if they wanted could start their own personal project to port it off of the propriatary software and onto a free software base. If you lack the information to do something like that then I would argue that it wasn't open source. Just because a program is running only on windows doesn't mean it's not open source. Algorythms are platform independent.
