Yet a planet without atmosphere isn't very conducive to life..

    Are you serious?
when everything else sucked and plot is not taken seriously in a RPG
Storyline was the only thing that could sell RPGs in the days before 'awesome cutscene graphics'. People certainly weren't buying them for nonstop action. FFVI did not center around one central whiny guy who had trouble talking to women (which is why i presume FFVII relates to so many gamers) but rather FFVI develops 12 main characters! FFX does have a good story, if you forget about the dismal ending. You make claims like FF7 and FFX are revolutionary, but provide no examples. Perhaps only that they were the first FF on each respective system (PSX and PS2). Revolutionary was the Job system in FFIII or Espers system in FFVI (which materia then expands upon) And you can't compare sales numbers between the two titles as gaming scene was tremendously different. It was not even conceivable to sell 2.5 million copies in a weekend of any game during snes days. Gaming exploded with the playstation/n64 releases. As far as game sales go, FFVI did very well for a snes game. And yeah FFIV is good too.. minus kain.

Well sure, you can ignore government bias, but the problem is not what information the government is giving you, the problem is what information the government isn't giving you. You think the government is going to investigate its own scandals? You can't give feedback to change something if you don't know whats wrong with it. North Korea has a government run media, and trust me, its not anything like the BBC. And you can easily stop watching ABC, if enough people stop watching thats when changes are made, shows get cancelled all the time from the lack of viewership.

So where is ABC supposed to make revenue then? Or any other station? While I dislike commercials just like everyone else, commercials are part of the service the station provides, it is how TV gets paid for. What company is going to advertise where no one will see their advertisement? I think a company has every right to try and protect their main source of revenue from being circumvented by 3rd party products. I prefer commercials over, lets say, government funded media.
