This is how I feel too.
I still use XP on one machine because Windows 7 has removed any easy to use search functionality (and Agent Ransack plays up sometimes), and I don't always have time or the patience to spend 2 hours+ to get the scanner on a new MFC printer working in linux (slackware).
For these reasons and others, XP is what I still use on a still functional AthlonXP machine.
The problem I have is if I have 20+ video related programs installed, and I need to use one which hasn't been used in 6 months or more, I may not remember the name.
In XP I would keep the start menu in order, and go straight to the video submenu where upon seeing it, remember what it's called.
I would update to version 10, but apparently my CPU is not supported (AMD XP2600). (I know it's old and I should update, I have an i7 laptop if I need more oompf, but I'm just not ready to get a new desktop yet.)
Because 'right click the ISO and select mount' is hard to explain.
I do agree with the rest of your post, and understand that it is often easier to explain a command line process than where to click, just not this instance.
I'm all for the command line, and think everyone should know what it is, how to get at it, and find out the right commands if needed. However, for most it's not always worth it. If one was to learn a specific command to do this or that, and didn't require it for 2-3 years or more, they aren't going to remember it. It's more reasonable to GUI it.
If my car is scheduled for a timing belt change, I'm not going to teach myself how to do it, plus buy all the required tools so I can so it again in 10 years. Most don't even service their car out of the same fear/unknown/laziness as one not using the command line.
Apologies for the clumped reply, the android browser really doesn't like/.
Seriously, I doubt you can get a prepaid SIM card easily/without giving your identity in Iran...
I'm not even sure that in France, where I'm currently writing, we can do it. I will check, it may be interesting.
In Australia we need to show car licence or other form of ID to purchase pre-paid
people buy games and DVDs these days instead of music because most of the music available now simply sucks
Well, if one listens to the radio they would assume that, also, If a good song happens to make it on the radio, the stations play it so often you don't need to buy it or want to hear it ever again.
There is good music out there, you have to be recommended it by a friend, find great local bands in the local pubs, or download untill you find something you like.
I tend to rather spend my money on music than games or movies. Music to me lasts longer.
What else can you do while watching a movie or playing a game. Music can be listened to over and over while you're doing nothing, or even doing this, that or her.
I run Joikuspot on my phone for my personal WIFI bubble. It works really well, and I just pay a little more to my 3G mobile phone provider for the extra data. http://www.joikuspot.com/aboutJoikuSpot.php
Anyone buy DVD's?
So many of my friends are hooked on DVD's, they buy DVD's and not CD's. Not me... I still buy CD's (I don't even have a standalone DVD player yet)
In the past, would many people have bought hundreds and hundreds of video cassetes? No. But DVD movies yes. That's where all the sales have gone. Even music retailers are full of DVD's
Next the RIAA will be suing the MPAA
I think the Caps were fine in my last EPOX board, they wern't buldged at all.. but they were hot. One day when I came home, I was told by my brother that the computer had been on for 20 minutes but wouldn't boot up. I went to take the lid off, and could feel things were very hot. The coils were too hot to touch, and the caps were so hot i could pull a few of them right out of the board! Of Course that board never worked again, I got a new one, and a better replacement for my $20 power pupply.
I used to hit the WiFi button on one of the widgets all the time on my Android 1.5 HTC Hero, and every version since then.

Or should plumbers demand a payment every time you have guest use your toilet?
They do, the more the toilet is used, eventually it will require repair, replacement or judging by your post, get a blockage.
Here's some 'wink, wink, nudge yeah we did the maintenance' logs, although amusing, I don't know if they're real. http://www.boreme.com/boreme/funny-2002/qantas_logs-p1.php
or possibly a 'First Post!' as the final post
The buttons work for me in FF3.0.10 on XP, but at 600x800 both links look no good.
Intel had paid manufacturers and a retailer to favour its chips.....via rebates...
I suppose this is a kind of encouragement, not what I originally thought when reading the summary however.
You may have seen a skit originally done by The Frantics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Y6231uAmo

Not if the 3120W boiler is ~53% less efficient than the 3120W one.
Hmm.. I think I need this one explained to me as a car analogy... Anyway, that's quite an inefficient boiler.. do they still make them?
3120W would still boil water faster than 1650W, whatever the design of the kettle.
It doesn't look pretty, but renders fine for me in FF 3.0.8 @ 1440x900. Also fine in IE7, Safari 4 (win), and Chrome (albeit slow)
