Thank you for the direct download link, since this is what I got after trying to go through IBM's download pages: "This offering is not available in your country. message code: 47e" What does this mean, they think I'm Hitman(tm) or something?

I am sorry, but I seem unable to follow your logic. Which premises in my sentence made you draw such a conclusion? I have just said that superiority complex has no grounds in reality - that does not necessarily mean any of the abovementioned OSes is better that the other. What I find rather peculiar is this competitive behaviour that's constantly being exercised by *BSD crowd. GNU/Linux camp regard *BSD Unices as the sister OS(es), something they're in some sort of "friendly competition" with, while the *BSD guys continue to look down on Linux and its users, telling on their official pages/blogs/birthday parties... how inferior Linux is in regard to software installation, OS management, security... This superiority complex of theirs is really annoying, especially given it is not based on facts. Compete against Windows damn it - that's the enemy, you morons...

I am from a south-eastern European country, where an average salary is cca 200 euros, nevertheless Windows XP Pro is priced at 150 euros (90 e for Home edition), Office 500 e - so much for making things 'affordable' in developing countries... The 'reformist' government even made a deal with Microsoft, making it a sole software supplier for governmental agencies and even educational institutions. So, I'm paying MS through taxes even, and waiting for a day when my kids (which I plan to have ;) ) will be taught something their parents do not approve of. Unless, of course, Microsoft has disappeared from the software market untill those day came :)
