The principal has that power. Thanks to the Hazelwood ruling about 20 some odd years ago, the US Government has given the green light for school administrators to censor whatever they feel is not correctly reflecting the(ir) views of the school or the students.

California, and I believe a few other states have overturned this ruling and passed a law giving the 1st Amendment back to the students.

Very true. I'm happy Russia is finding it's way back. I remember reading and hearing about a lot of small success stories from Russian entrapanures finally being able to freely open shop and compete.

Personally I wish the west would embrace Russia more..this keeping them at arms length deal isn't good. I'd like to see some airlines invest cash in some of the new Russian aircraft. They're getting to be pretty advanced, near glass cockpit like Boeing/Airbus models.

You can hold your Christian viewpoint, that was not his point.

His point was if you continue to walk around and spout your viewpoint to everyone and their thrice removed aunt, you run quite the risk of a Fatal Beating (tm), because the majority of people don't want to hear it.
Everyone has their own set of morals and ideals in this world, and to be "preached" to by someone telling them they're all dirty little evil bastards unless they repent and follow someone else's rules..well, it just doesn't seem to sit well with most people.

Now, I personally find the idea that America has become a degraded wasteland because people aren't Christian is absurd.
I myself do not go to Church, and I do not worship The Father, The Son, or The Holy Spirit/Ghost.
But, I am a decent upstanding person, I hold down a pretty good job, don't drink, don't smoke (what do ya do? Er sorry..old Adam Ant song..)

According to the usual Christian values, I am fufulling most of them (okay, so I lust after someone else's SGI box...gimmie a break!), but because I am not Christian, that instantly makes me a dirty little evil bastard that will spend an eternity in hell trying to make Windows 98 install and run on Packard Bell 486's.

So in essence, my personal belief is your viewpoint is a crock of bull. :)

    Talk about life imitating art..

I quite like the questions "Wah" posted. I hope #2 is one of the questions Katz can answer, I'd like to know as well. What amazes me, is a moderator upped your post, seeing as it is nothing more than a venom laced post attacking "Wah".

You speak of arrogance, well I suppose I see the world through rose colored glasses then because I see none in that post.

What set you off about that post? What was it that set off your trigger? The fact that "Wah" tried to apologise for all the people who rant and rave about how they want Katz to be roasted over an open pit with hot Natalie Portman grits basted over him while being prodded by sharpened edged of AOL CD's?

If there's a mark of a good writer/journalist, it's the ability to stir up the hornet's nest. Admittedly, the way Katz does it doesn't always rub the right way with the Slashdot group, but what happens in the backlash?

People talk, they discuss different viewpoints on what Katz brought up. They discuss their own viewpoints, and in the end, people learn more about the issue(s) raised by a Katz story. Isn't that the point of having a forum on Slashdot? To allow people to learn more by interacting with others in these threads?
