Not sure why some folks think Pluto isn't a planet. It is. It was just re-classified as a sub-category of planet, dwarf planet. The second word in its classification is a dead giveaway that it is still, in fact, a planet.
You're neglecting the environmental impact. Just one being the seeming incapability of many smokers locating bin to put their butts in. It's disgusting.
No. They also send you a replacement if you get the E74 general hardware fault error. Just did it with mine. Not sure what caused the error though, cos after running mine for just over a year for around 16 hours a day (used as a media center extender and gaming console) in my cabinet, i moved it to on top of my cabinet cos the noise at the end of each night was annoying. After a week it died, and my hdmi cable was stuffed too. So it could have been my cable that caused issues.
Bah.
Wow, a lot of things seem to bother you:)
The quietness of HDD installs out weigh any load time benefits IMHO. Having to switch discs when wanting to play a game bothers you? I'm certain you still had to do this pre NXE:)
5.1 support in DivX has always been there since the Dec '07 update. Its 5.1 in the h264 codec that isn't supported.
Aw heck, you are clueless.
>Windows is about having to spend endless hours of your time applying security patches, scanning for malware and sometimes >restoring the entire operating system when it glitches. Linux is about enjoying your computer.
Wow, if you truly do the above (although i know your post was in jest), then you are using a version of Windows that's not in existence.
Applying patches in windows doesn't really involve the user at all or take up your time. Scanning for malware, 30 seconds of a users time (none for me as its scheduled to go once a week).
Put it this way champ, if linux based OS's were targeted like XP and Vista....i have no doubt they'd probably fall in a screaming heap.
Ha, give me a break. You moronic linux zealots are farking clueless for the most part. Blinded by your ridiculous lust and loyalt for a product that more often than not takes more time and gives you more heartache than XP or Vista ever would. Some of us don't want to be slaves to our computers like you. Get over yourselves and realise that windows has a place in the OS world. People who want ease of use, no fiddling with config files, and want to develop art/applications/websites with some of the best tools in the world.... will not use a linux based OS.
Believe me, Vista has its issues, i despise some of them. But the enormity of the thing and the fact that it pretty much works straight out of the box is an impressive feat. So mod me down, and continue modding up the tool bags who merely say idiotic statements purely because they are anti windows. A lot of slashdot's articles can be insightful, but as soon as something MS or Windows related pops up most of you people lose all reason and salivate at the mouth.
I guess i can take solace in the fact that i could probably beat the enire lot of you up on my own:)
Uh oh, here come the Linux fanbois as expected. I shouldn't have to fix the bugs in my OS, i guess you have more time on your hands than most.
I'll stick to enjoying my OS while you toil away fixing security issues.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned anything about the SED displays due out in 2008 that will (and have according to various websites) wipe the floor with plasma and LCD. And are apparently cheaper to mass produce.
If he would pay his fair share of taxes, rather than laundering all of those copies of Windows through a Nevada shell corporation, then maybe, just maybe, there wouldn't be as many "less fortunate" people.
What, he's into oil now?
Riiiight, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the OSes you spouted. I'd hate to bring you back to the real world champ... but its more likely that it *is* your app stuffing up rather than windows crashing. I've been writing apps for 6 years for all platforms and not once has my app crashed as a result of windows. If its crashed, its a bug that's escaped testing.
Next time, get off your high horse because those of us down here can't hear you.

Roger, i'd like to buy your rock.
It's a lot simpler than that - games with crappy graphics don't sell. Period.
I'll see your "crappy gaphics don't sell", and raise you a Wii.

You use the start menu to shutdown? That's so '95.
Uh, yeah it is if you are leaving for a competitor.

Then turn the effects off you b00b. You have options, use them. Office 2003 is absolutely fine. Can't speak for 07 as i haven't used it.

I, for one, welcome our new rat overlords.

Correct. It simply has a Go Live license attached with it now. Still a CTP release.
