  1. Employees vs. Patients? on Indiana Nurses Fired After Refusing Flu Shots On Religious Grounds · · Score: 0

"stirring up controversy over which should come first: employee rights or patient safety." I can't believe that this is even an issue. These nurses are in the medical profession and their job is nurture and protect the health of those in need of care. Their right to be obstinate cannot, or should not, take precedence over the safety of patients. Hospitals are already breeding grounds for MRSA bacteria. I don't think that we need coughing, wheezing, snotty-nosed employees spreading viruses willy-nilly.

  2. The world is full of scofflaws on Why Cell Phone Bans Don't Work · · Score: 0

Cell phone bans while driving don't work because nobody pays any attention to them. You can drive around my city and virtually everyone is using a cell phone, even though we have a law against it. It's kind of like gun control laws.

  3. Re:What is the point of a driverless car? on Google Gets Driverless License For Nevada Roads · · Score: 0

I'm with you all the way on this one, buddy. I have no plans to ever visit Nevada and given this venture, I probably never will and if there is a vote on bringing these things to my state, I will vote against it. Has anyone bothered to ask the people what they think about this idea. This is exactly the reason that, although I use some Google services, Google creeps me out.

  5. Refrain! on "Innocent Infringement" Defense May Reach Supreme Court · · Score: 1

I'm wondering why every one is in a dither about this when the most obvious reasonable response is to boycott the entertainment industry. Are we all so brainwashed that we think that we need this stuff to survive and that we just wring our hands when some unfortunate soul gets caught and sentenced to a life of indentured servitude or prison? My favorite composer, Beethoven, spent much of his working life fighting to get proper remuneration and respect for his work. We have come a long way from when the likes of Mozart were buried in unmarked graves to when recording artists and their agencies demand millions for their work and can destroy the lives of those who dare to make a copy of a recording. Actually, I'd settle for going back to the analog world, when reasonable copyright law existed, but since that's not going to happen, why not just say no! Someone spoke of educating people about unfair copyright laws. How about educating the entertainment industry about who's really important in this world and about the power the people and their money really have.

  6. Thank You, Logitech! on Logitech Makes 1 Billionth Mouse · · Score: 1

From my first introduction to the mouse in late 1994, I hated the things. For a decade, I used school and work computers and the mouse, next to the network, always seemed to be the weakest link. Then I got my own computer about five years ago and discovered the optical mouse, which came with my HP computer and thought I was in heaven. About ten months and maybe a billion batteries later, I bought a Logitech MX1000 laser mouse based solely on the rechargeable battery and I've been in love with this mouse ever since. What a masterpiece! Thank you, Logitech!
