Anyone read "The Time Machine" and remember the Eloi, the surface dwelling flower children that used the technology that was left them, but after generations forgot how it worked. Do you happen to recall that they were food for the cannibalistic Morlocks? This is what happens with dependency.
Think back though history and does anyone know when there was ever a group of people dependent on something, that another group did not find out about and take advantage of? Opium/China, Oil/USA, Grain/Russis, Cocaine/USA, Cheap Labor/USA, CheapGadgets/USA...
Lucky we have lots and lots of money in the back isn't it? Huh??????
Not that any other major software/computer company would not, but Microsoft has been so key in ruining tech and the Internet with its insecure and dysfunctional software.
What about a major anti-trust breakup of this industry?
Probably never happen due to the need for the government to snoop on all of us, but I think this is a watershed moment in human history that can determine whether we have a big brother type totalitarian nighmare or the possible dawning of a new technological age.
We all have the curse of living in "interesting times".
You are so misguided. Stalin a Liberal. That is horrible ignorance, in fact unacceptable, you are like a brainwashed Muslim being aimed in ignorance to be a suicide bomber... only it is worse in your case, you have a choice, you are not living in a totalitarian society, but apparently you feel more comfortable there.
On Yahoo, Google, CNN, most if not all of news services will have geographic stories like this and NOT include a good map of the area being reported on. If they do the maps are usually not appropriate, too small, or do not show what is being discussed.
I wonder what the problem is with this, and yes, I know I can go look at other maps, but if 50 millions people all go look for a map it is a lot more time, effort and bandwidth than if the story's writer just includes an appropriate graphic.

Does this bug anyone else?
The disks spin so fast you cannot see it,
and the head armature moves back and forth
so fast that would look like a blur too.
Seems a bit silly, but I do not know if it
would be much of a risk if you did it in a
dust free environment and did not touch
anything sensitive.
