You'd have dope dealers switched to the Gold and Platinum standard. People who make money doing illegal things will find more illegal things to keep making the money......

And all if this will be for nothing, because if they've bugged the computers servicing the towers, it can split and forward both sides of the conversation and be completely transparent to you and your phone. With the money and the technology the government has, if they want to watch and listen, there's not much we can do unless we move into a bunker.

  3. Speed of Light on An Older, Larger Universe · · Score: 1

So, can someone tell me, if the universe is 15.8 billion years old and 180 billion light years wide, that means from the center to the edge is roughly 90 billion light years? And if that's the case wouldn't it of had to expand at 6 light years per year to achieve that width? Wouldn't that rate of expansion exceed the speed of light? Someone tell me what I'm missing here.....

And if you want it done very well and less expensively, go to canada. They're usually a year or two ahead of us on the procedures and very reasonably priced. Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit actually started having our friends across the lake handling procedures at their place.

  5. Re:FP: What a great idea! on FCC Report Supports a la Carte TV Pricing · · Score: 3, Insightful

Everyone is forgetting how and why cable began, it was to offer commercial free premium tv for a subscription. Originally it was never meant to charge for commercial TV. Ted Turner was the last to cave when he ran into financial problems and the cable providers threatened to remove him from cable if he didn't scramble his satellite signal. Channels with commercials should be free or nearly free and supported by the advertisers. I am kind of suprised that Murdoch hasn't started offering all of Fox offerings for free just to boost revenues. But I watch about 10 channels, scifi and most of the history/discovery stuff and news, they are all stuffed with far too many commercials and I'm paying to watch commercials, pretty ridiculous.
