The planet has been warming and cooling for eons. Just look at geological records. There's rock layers that alternate between shail (riverbeds, ocean floors) and limestone (dry land). It's the ocean shorelines expanding and receding every few hundred thousand to a few million years. These warming/cooling cycles won't stop just because of man. In fact, volcanic eruptions have contributed more CO2 and SO2 gasses than man himself in totality.
Global warming as the enviro-fascists protray is bunk.
IP Addresses for the majority of Internet users are not static. They change every time a person connects. Even much of broadband subnets are dynamic. The RIAA would be extremely hard-pressed to prove that IP x.x.x.x was assigned to this person... ISPs aren't obligated to release their user connection records without a subpoena.
Also, those same boobs seem to forget that the Internet is international. So, if the person making a song available for download isn't necessarily breaking their own country's laws. Something that is copyrighted in the U.S. isn't necessarily covered by copyright in another. If they are providing something that is publicly available in their own country but isn't freely available in the States, that person isn't violating U.S. federal law. They do not fall under U.S. federal jurisdiction. Only if that person violates their own country's copyright laws then can the U.S. legally prosecute.
There's that item called sovereignty...
At any rate, the RIAA are breaking quite a few laws themselves... exhortion among others. They are almost to the point where they can be prosecuted themselves under the RICO act (if they're not already).
This law is totally useless. I get all these spam messsages claiming to be can-spam compliant and if I were to respond to get myself taken off, it is of no avail.
I personally think that Political Correctness is full of BS!
Let's not forget that there people on this game younger than 18 (and dare I say it children... which would be upto the parents to do some actual parenting instead of relying on the moderators of this game).
(Going off on a tangent here) But that being said, there is quite a few issues that will greatly offend many people. For me, it happens to be "same-sex marriage." Call me what you will, but my feelings on that one is religious. Liberals seem hell-bent on trying to push that erroneous idea of redefining marriage and forcing that redefinition on the rest of us (and abusing the courts to force that idea when in fact the majority of American voters have voted to put bans and/or definitions of marriage on their respective State Constitutions to protect marriages from the abuse of left-wing activist judges who attempt to legislate from the bench... Good Lord, even court decisions are NOT set in stone).
If enough people don't like those amendments, then only another amendment to repeal any previous ones can do the job. But the left-wing nuts left us little choice but to use the Constitutional right to amend the Constitution (albeit on State Constitutions on this particular issue).
Oh yeah. I have had plenty of DeskStar drives fail on me left and right. I remember that many Compaq Presarios in 1999 had a large batch of bad WD drives (overheating and shorting out).
I still have my Quantum Fireball 64SE drive I bought in 1999 and it is still going strong (even SMART is reporting full health still). I also have a 40GB WD drive I bought almost 3 years ago and it is working nicely for me.
While I don't agree with Gates' marketing practices at Microsoft. His wife and he has given alot to charitable organizations (both time and money).
As for President Bush when he was chosen, at the time we were reeling from 9/11, and has shown courage and leadership in times of trial (While that may or may not be true today is irrevelent as to why he got chosen in 2001 or whatever the year was).
As for the Hitler or Stalin nominations, I will never know why. Those two killed MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people when they were dictators. Comparing Bush and Gates to a couple of coward dictators is absolutely foolish and immature.
Open programs will usually access the older libraries if they keep those files open in memory. But more newer programs in UNIX et al close those libary files after accessing a function. So, a reboot is rarely necessary in Linux. Only when kernel modules are in use would a reboot be warranted or when using development modules that goof up. (My nVidia GeForce FX-5200 sometimes required me to reboot... but most of the time it's due to me tinkering with the module options in nvidia.ko)
Ugh... the ACLU? They are screwing up the vast majority of the American public. They don't care about equality and fairness one iota. They likely prefer inflicting psychological injury on a poor family like that one woman being sued by the RIAA...
As for calling voters evil, what? You prefer totalitarian dictatorships where one gets killed or tortured for speaking out against the government?
Yeah, I write my own representative (Dennis Moore-D, KS) and senators (Pat Roberts-R and Sam Brownback-R) all the time. Even though I may not agree with my own representative on some issues, he still takes the time to write me back.
I believe it does IIRC. So, it's moot.

It's called greed. Enough said. Apparently some lazy idiot begging for money.

WTF? That tells absolutely nothing!

Yeah, I've been very happy with Dell. We have very few if any failures from Dell systems that we procure for our clients. Very good quality.

Makes one wonder...
