  1. Space Lens on Public Discussion Opened on Space Solar Power · · Score: 1

Instead of having a huge area of mirrors or receivers in space, with the consequential problems of building the array and transmiting the energy. How about a smaller near orbit lens. Focus the energy from a wide area to a narrow area and transmit to earth in one move. Like frying an ant but from space and a huge lens. The lens could be a huge inflatable flexible transparent sack of gas or some such. Use that focused energy and track a receiver on the earth. (c)2007 me

  3. Why Trackpad when you can TOUCH SCREEN! on MacBooks to Feature iPhone's Multi-Touch? · · Score: 1

I think a lot of people are not understanding where this tech is going. Forget a two finger trackpad (what a retarded 'innovation') In fact forget the trackpad all together. Multi touch displays would not need a trackpad. That is the point - duh !

  4. Mouse efficiency !??? on Vista Worse For User Efficiency Than XP · · Score: 1, Flamebait

OSX has the WORST mouse control EVER !!!!!!!!!!!! It is only passable by users who have never used Windows. I hate it ! Mouse acceleration is RETARDED. Why no check box for on off ? OSX is like a straight jacket. Plus OSX is a big fat HOG. Anyone who is running the same apps on XP and OSX with a Mac Pro will agree. It's indisputable. All those shinny windows an dumb window transitions are for children, plus they slow everything down. Personally I want to compute with my computer. Long live Win XP. (Vista should be a desktop plugin for Win XP, or at the most a tiny upgrade to Explorer.exe)

  5. Wii controller on Nintendo's Next-Gen Arsenal · · Score: 1

Why aren't BOTH of the controllers wireless ?, why have that nunchaku cable ? If one controller is wireless, why introduce another frickin' wire to retarn the whole idea. Surely two wireless controllers (one for each hand) would be ideal ?

Any references you have of a popular series dealing with any of the themes you have mentioned would be very interesting. The only one that comes to my mind is the Da Vince Code.

  8. Doesn't Bush believe in half of this series ? on 10 Years of Neon Genesis Evangelion · · Score: 0, Troll

I mean, isn't Bush an Evangelical? And, I don't want to give the plot away, but I will... Angels decend to Earth then everyone flies up to the sky in the RAPTURE. I remember when Bush was asked recentley if the he believed the Apocalypse was destined and he didn't answer... that was 100 x more scarey than Evangelion. This is only one example of the awesome amount of mythology found in Evangelion. And the vast amount of the mythology is Christian and Jewish ie. very relivant to the US. It really makes you analyse how messed up western religion is (also).

How suprising ? Actually I am suprised how much this series has got flamed here. Comparisons to Starwars ? Are you joking ? Starwards is for 5year olds, please, the only deep references it has are swords and magic powers. Hellboy, oh my god, what a piece of crap that was. Honestly if your going to shoot down an animation like Evangelion at least have something better as an example of what works. Evangelion transcends ANY sci-fi I have watched since 2001(the film). Anyone who does not understand it's references or considers them as shallow, simply does not understand the show. Which is to be expected in the US, where all that counts are the number of explosions and pairs of tits.

Why go through all this development. Why not attempt to RECYCLE all the pc's geeks like us go through every year. 7 inch LCD? Are they crazy ! For the same resolution how about a TV out ? (eg. C64 or ZX Spectrum, come to think of it that would be so hot, tape drives and all, man they could probably afford floppies !) What use does the 3rd world have for a portable computer ? Are they going to be working whilst commuting? Do they have electricity at home? Do they even want to have something that valuable in their home...? Seems to me a bank of reconditioned towers based at a local school or library, with a tech support guy around, hooked up to somekind of broadband would be the most ideal situation. But what would that leave MIT to do ?
