"Doesn't it seem wrong for the US gov't to be pushing private companies to censor the internet without due process?"
If Bush had been president, this headline would have read: "Doesn't it seem wrong for the Bush Whitehouse to be pushing private companies to censor the internet without due process?" But the Slashdot editors voted for Obama, so they can't make him look bad, even if they disagree with him
Troll? Didn't you see the news story? Obama said "We can absorb a terrorist attack." http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2010/09/22/130040247/obama-says-we-can-absorb-a-terrorist-attack-your-thoughts
"Really,I know a lot of people seem to be using twitter, but I just don't get it. Am I too old?"
I used to think the same thing until I started playing with it. It's all about who you follow. For instance, I follow Weird Al and every couple of days he posts something funny. And it's also how I found out about a Ustream Q&A that he was doing one day. Back in 2008, I was following Leo Laporte, but instead of tech posts, I was getting commentary on the US presidential elections. So I unfollowed him. It's all about finding people who post things that interest you and then following them.
If you were worried about vice-presidents, you should have looked at Obama's.
It started when Obama fired the CEO of GM.

That's a good point.
Note to self: When hiring Perl programmers, look for heavy drinkers.
It just hit me--think of all the stuff you could do in a Perl program that would fit into one tweet?

Don't worry, President Obama says we can absorb the impact
tech-savvy != good leadership
There are quite a few "peers" I don't want connecting to my network.
What exactly is it about Palin that you don't like?
Why? What does "complex life off-Earth" imply?
So if someone makes a product called "Video Phone" will Apple sue? After all, they have a trademark on "iPhone". What about "Video Tunes"?
Are you sure? Seems like a continuation of the old.
"several nuclear missiles simultaneously and inexplicably malfunctioned"
Wouldn't a malfunction mean that it didn't explode? Wouldn't that mean someone was trying to fire it? :-)

Is that a European or African cereal prize?
